We had lunch recently based on the reviews we read and were NOT disappointed . The owner and his family were very friendly and inviting. All the dishes we tried were very good, especially the stifado (one of the best i have had over the fifty years i have been coming to Greece), local green beans, pickled octopus, fresh fried fish and calamari. The home made local orange cake was excellent. We will be going back for another meal during our stay in the area. The location next to the river was also very pleasant and the whole setting had a great feng shui. Highly recommended.

We visited this restaurant for lunch when we visited Acheron Springs. We ordered a few dishes. The salad was extremely small. The most disappointing however was the quality of the meat that had so much fat that it was impossible to chew it. When the waiter came to collect the plates he didnât even ask how was our food. Probably because he saw that a few plates were so full like we didnât touch them at all. In my opinion this is the reason that he should notice and ask. But anyway, I told him that the meat was not good and that I couldnât eat it because of the fat. He only said âokâ. As âI donât care at allâ.I would never go back. The location though is great. Maybe someone could enjoy a coffee/drink there.Good evening, we get all the comments, either positive or negative. This comment does not apply to our restaurant, because if there was even one incident on such a subject, it is impossible not to take it into account. Obviously you have confused our own restaurant with some of the area here. Almost all restaurants here have the same name Acheron Springs. Please check the location and restaurant. Thank you!

Located 5-10 min from the parking place at Acheron Springs, in a rural area. The coordinates on TripAdvisor are correct, although you may think you are lost... You pass some family houses along the hillside, the taverna is at the end of the road, right hand side. Beautiful view of the valley. We had a great lunch here after visiting the Acheron Springs. We had tomato sallad, souvlaki, spaghetti and garlic bread. All tasted delicious. I can recommend the greek garlic bread which is like a garlic flavoured pizza.

Came here after the Acheron Gorge and a rafting trip. Only restaurant downstream of the road bridge and where the rafting trips finish.Order with care. Any fried food is very oily, especially the calamari and the selection of fried vegetables. The bread was good, as was the Greek salad and the pork souvlaki.
