Top 8 Dolphin & Whale Watching in Cornwall, England

June 17, 2021 Rosalyn Ihle

Cornwall is the extreme southwestern peninsula of England. It has the longest stretch of continuous coastline in Britain and it is one of the sunniest areas in the UK. With picturesque villages, Celtic ruins, light blue waters, gardens and parks and unique architecture it certainly is among the most scenic areas of England. Home of many events and festivals and the land of Cornish pasty, it is definitely worth visiting.

Marine Discovery is shut between November and March due to weather constraints and winter maintenance. If in doubt, call to check.

Cornish Sea Tours

RIB Sea Safaris and Power Boat Trips from Rock North Cornwall with Cornish Sea Tours. What better way to explore the awe inspiring coastal scenery and incredible wildlife of North Cornwall than by powerboat? Our boat SeaXplorer is a 9m RIB which seats 12 passengers and is based at Rock on the Camel Estuary just over the river from Padstow. We meet at our office on the Rock pontoon and then away to sea. We run boat trips to various locations from Rock out towards Newquay or Bude and regularly see wildlife such as Basking Sharks, Dolphins, Porpoises, Seals, Sun Fish and all sorts of sea birds including Puffins. We carry several pairs of binoculars on board so you can see them all up close.Your skippers are always qualified by the Maritime Coastguard Agency and have in depth knowledge about the local wildlife and geology. The tours run for 2 hours and cost £40 per adult and £30 per child under 14. Life jackets are provided. We do recommend bringing a warm layer, a waterproof jacket and trousers and this summer perhaps some sun cream. In particularly wet weather we can provide full waterproofs.
