A Place to Replentish your Soul
Reviewed By Journey61Marattimo is a spectacularly beautiful island, rugged mountains rising from the sea covered in wild thyme and pine forests. A tiny harbour with sun drenched blue and white washed houses, very pretty. A place that I have long dreamed of visiting. I am a solo woman traveller. I stayed at La Terrazza B& B Marattimo for 4 days Sept/Oct 2016. Great location only 5 minute walk from the ferry port La Terrazza is situated in the village. My room had a little balcony with a view to the sea and behind me the backdrop of the stunning rugged mountainous interior of the island. Quiet and squeaky clean! Ensuite, hairdryer, fresh towels, TV, excellent wifi. A very pretty top floor terrace with stunning views around Marattimo with a guest kitchen, table and chairs to relax or have your lunch during the day. A buffet breakfast was served on the terrace each morning, fresh warm bread rolls, croissants, selection of jams and ricotta puffs, as well as the most delectable apple cake which I think Cristina got up at the crack of dawn each morning to bake, juice, coffee/tea. Marattimo is walkable everything is only 5 minutes walk away; amazing restaurants, a couple of small shop for supplies, post office, pharmacy, ATMs, dive/snorkelling shops, and fishermen's boats for a circumnavigation of the island, walking tracks, swimming coves. I have very little Italian, Cristina had very little English, her warmth and generosity didn't need a language we understood each other well. Two memories for me as I arrived, Cristina's wonderful warm welcome and the squeaky clean smell of freshly washed linen wafted everywhere. Grazie I had a wonderful stay...

Lea managed to find 2 accommodations for us which suited perfectly to our needs. 1 double bedroom with little kitchen and a little bilo with 1double room and a sofa bed which was super comfy. Both kitchens were very well equipped so we could eat at home everynight; cleanless was outstanding and Lea and Mario, her son, were available for every need h24! I would definitely recommend this accommodation! Eravamo in 6 persone e abbiamo prenotato molto sottodata. Lea ci ha trovato2 soluzioni perfette per le nostre esigenze: un mono con cucina e un bilo con camera matrimoniale e divano letto super comodo! Entrambe le cucine erano ben equipaggiate permettendoci di cenare a casa ogni sera e la pulizia dei locali impeccabile! Mario e Lea sono stati discreti ma disponibili h24!

Reviewed By agroppi76The room was clean with all the facilities such as air conditioning, free wi-fi and a small fridge. All you need on an island like Marettimo. Cafes for breakfast are one minute away and offer amazing views and pastries. The owners are very welcoming and offer boat trips around the island. They also produce local honey and own a shop with local products. Would definitely recommend it.

Nice clean room, friendly staff, and great location
Reviewed By Jakob JThe B&B is located in a quiet and charming part of the Marettimo village. Really friendly staff (e.g. they picked us up at the ferry and drove us to the B&B). The breakfast, which is served at a bar in the other end of the village is not worth the walk (a croisant and a coffee). Go for the much much nicer Caffe Tramontana instead - 1 minute walk down the street (also really great for apperitivos in the evening).

Reviewed By hamburgbobThis is a small home with two rooms upstairs each with on suite bathrooms. The owner is a lovely older lady who lives there alone. She speaks no English so it is challenging but fun to communicate. She is very intent on pleasing you. She was waiting on the pier to great us as we exited the ferry which was nice. A 2 minute walk to her home from ferry. If you want a 4 star experience then do not go. This is a local home, very clean with good beds but no frills. We loved it. She does not provide breakfast be you can get that easily close by for low cost. The island is a small place but a joy to explore and the people are friendly. Take your hiking shoes. The mountain hike to the castle is challenging but a beautiful view but you should be in shape and bring water if hot. There is a small beach at the castle so take your swim suit to rest and swim. We wished we had known that. Hike takes about 2.5 to 3 hours round trip at normal pace. Many good restaurants and good wine and pastries.

Cristina affettuosa e premurosa come una mamma, la stanza accogliente, arredata con gusto , climatizzata e accessoriata. a parte godere delle meravigliose grotte di Marettimo, a parte gustare squisite granite davanti ad un panorama che solo un'isola come Marettimo può offrire; Addentrandoci nei sentieri che la costa offre abbiamo trovato pace e serenità in luoghi nascosti che si sono rivelati per noi oasi da sogno in cui abbiamo scritto le pagine più belle di quest'estate.
