After a 15-minute ride with the boat you will be reaching the beautiful and isolated Bahía de las Águilas, which is considered to be the most beautiful beach in the country. In the afternoon a short walk on the botanical trail, you reach Cachote. Here you meet locals still living in a traditional way, without electricity and light. Spend some time at the community before thereafter the way leads back to the valley, which is well known for its high quality production of oranges, coconuts and mangoes. Go on a hike across the small island through a somewhat barren landscape where cacti dominate the scenery. Once you arrive on a scenic outpost take some time to appreciate the beautiful view over the lagoon, the Caribbean Sea, the Jaragua national park and the mountains of Bahoruco.
