January 30, 2018 Jasper Kershner

Puerto Aventuras mingles tropical beauty with the riches of the sea. Beaches are fantastic, with powdery, white sand, and there's excellent fishing as well. For a fun day, explore the eco-archeological park Xcaret, or snorkel at Xel-ha, a natural inlet water park. The Mayan ruins at Tulum, only 25 minutes away, are another must-see.

Shop owner Marcos is super friendly. We dived with Aurelien and Guillermo and they were fantastic. The dive was absolutely amazing! Not really a beginner dive, but certainly not advanced. Need to have good buoyancy control and be comfortable, but this is not cave diving. Totally cool experience, and great company!

We loved this beach so much we kept coming back to it. There are plenty of beach clubs to choose from or you can bring you own things. The snorkeling is pretty great and there weren't hoards of people. If you want to get away from everyone you simply walk down the beach.

We paid 100.00 each for the kids to basically stand in water near the dolphins. The group was too big. They were bored and so were we watching most of the time. When they were done we attempted to buy some of the pictures their professional photographer took. Needless to say I think the pics were a scam. The young man selling them to us could not speak English--which is ok-- it is their country. But we could not communicate very well. They won-- I was so confused that my husband took over and ended up buying the whole package 125.00 for 45 pictures of two kids-- ON A DISK. A lot of the pics were duplicates. Oh well, done once-never again.
