The beach was 20 min from where I was staying , walking.
Several restaurants along the beach for lunch appetizers snack or any kind of drink or refreshment. Nice long beach for running walking swimming, not very crowded during the week. Probably crowded on week ends and holidays.

We rented a car and drove to Yayas falls ourselves...and for $10 went to see it - which was not that exciting really. BUT we went to the zoo down the road and it was pretty cool...again, drove there ourselves and paid a very inexpensive admission compared to the $80+ you will pay as a resort excursion.

Icacos Adventure

Reviewed By k2rbw - Penonome, Panama

To be honest, I did not go in. Although well below Disneyland prices, $24 for two adults and one child (just to enter) is more than I am willing to pay in Panama. There are additional charges inside for certain activities. It was early afternoon on a Saturday and there were only two cars in the parking lot. It may well be worth it but I will probably never know.

This is a very new establishment in El Valle. The owners have done a wonderful job pairing a butterfly conservatory with a cafe (great smoothies, freshly baked goodies, etc) - all in a lush, colourful setting. Beautiful flora, knowledgeable staff. There's even an onsite lab where you can peer in & see butterflies in all stages of growth. Fun to take the family or just go & enjoy a treat in a tranquil setting. Guided tours of the butterfly 'house' available. A little gem in the valley!

Lovely day out for the children, ages 7 and 1, they both had a blast! There's a small pool for the little kids, medium sized pool with 2 slides for the slightly bigger kids and deep pool with high, fast slide for the older kids.
They have a bouncy house to enjoy too!
Plenty of shaded tables, private VIP area that can be hired out for kids parties or private functions.
The menu was fairly extensive, burgers, fried chicken, rice with chicken etc.
Entry was $6 per person from 2 years old, we went on a Monday. But over the weekend the prices are different... not sure exact prices.
Definitely worth the drive from Coronado!! Something to consider during the holidays.

We hired Manuel from Cocle Excursions for our first visit to Panama.
We did a full day tour that included a jungle boat ride to Monkey Islands in the Gamboa Rainforest, Panama Canal, Old City, and other city attractions. We also did a day tour of the Embero Indian Tribe which included a Canoe ride, tour of the Indian's living environment, Lunch etc. He also drove us (Mercedes SUV) from airport to our Panama City hotel and drove us to and from Panama City to JW Marriott in Rio Hato which was 2 hours away from Panama City. Manuel was very flexible and catered the days to our interests and needs. He was able to give us great information about the sights we were seeing so we got context to all the surroundings.
Our friend's tour company had hired Manuel for their family trip and another friend hired Manuel directly which is what we did.
Manuel also does tours from JW Marriott but we decided to just stay at the beach and not do any further excursions.
Our trip to Panama was enhanced by having Manuel as our guide and we would highly recommend him for anyone interested in a private guide.
