Had an amazing time playing the wild West room with a few of my friends, some of the puzzles were incredibly inventive and the room really made us work as a team, which was fun. Janos was a great host, giving just the right amount of hints to keep things fun. Also, in this place if you don't finish you can get an explanation of where you went wrong and how much you had left, which is very interesting. Overall a great experience and will come back when the new room opens in 2020.

Shaw House

Built in 1581 by Newbury clothier Thomas Dolman this fine Elizabethan building was recently restored through a £6million project. The stories and characters from Shaw House’s varied past are bought to life in the new exhibition. An ideal day out for families; Wheelie Do activities are located throughout the house, with activities from designing the gardens to playing our Civil War board game. Exciting and varied events program. Open most weekends.

We only discovered this place because our daughter was getting married and the registry office is located here. The building is a superb Elizabethan mansion situated in lovely grounds on the outskirts of Newbury. Sadly, the interior is now closed due to Covid but the cafe and toilets are still available. Under normal circumstances there are public opening times for a series of exhibition rooms where you can learn the story of the house and view art exhibitions and the like. Picnics are allowed in the grounds and there is a large car park.

Welford Park

The Postcode is incorrect it should read RG20 8HU but when I try to alter it the message comes back that it is not in the correct format for the country which is wrong as at the moment it is showing in exactly the same format but with the wrong code. I have had customers ring me up and ask me to change it. Many thanks for your assistance

Great experience for snowdrops, best to visit by mid February for best displays? All depends on weather earlier in winter.

Snelsmore Common Country Park

The place that just keeps on giving. Took my 2 year old here recently during the frosty weather and it was a brilliant few hours out. I do usually come here regularly throughout the year as it’s a great place to walk but offers so much more. During the summer there are plenty of places to have a picnic, kick a ball around, go exploring and do extensive walks. There’s a lot of wildlife here, so definitely during the warmer months watch your steps as had several lizards run across the path ahead! Great for dog walkers, although there are wild horses so do keep that in mind. This is a place great for all ages, and all interests. Not just great in the summer it’s great all year long!

Visited on a Gin Thursday, needless to say didn't have a gin! The racecourse is beautifully kept and the set up great. Able to watch the horses being saddled, pre parade ring, the jockeys mounting and cantering down to the stalls. Everywhere clean and the staff exceptional. It takes us 5 hours travelling but we shall come again.

Visited for the first time with my 3 year old. Wasn’t sure what to expect but we had a great time. Was the perfect age for the activities on offer - we went on all the outdoor climbing and play equipment, the doughnut ring slide, the go karts and the tractor ride. The little village of houses was particularly popular for imaginative play. The highlight was the little toy train ride - not so much the ride itself but Scott who was operating it. He was great with the kids, chatting to them and making them laugh with his comedy falling over routine which he kept up all day! All the kids loved it. Was a weekday so really quiet and no queuing at all. Indoor soft play was closed because of Covid but looks good. Would recommend for a fun family day out.
