The first stop is the famous round mountain Redonda, which offers stunning views! On the mountain, you can take iconic photos on a swing and in a hammock. Then we go to the hinterland, to the mountain ranch by the river, where you will get acquainted with the local flora: cocoa and coffee, pineapples and papaya, vanilla and oranges. You will have a tasting and master classes, as well as a demonstration of cockfighting. The next stop is a water Park with natural lakes (water from fresh underground sources). Here you will find extreme entertainment-zip lines with a fall right into the water! And you will be served a delicious lunch with views of the lakes. Then we will go to Macau beach where you will have 1.5-2 hours of free time. On the beach we will give you body surf boards so you can ride the waves. These are small boards on which you lie down with your body and catch waves :) On the way you will see the life and life of ordinary Dominicans and small villages.

Where to start... let s start with the good bit. The beach on the island is very nice. But.... This operation is borderline a scam and is certainly totally fly by night, even by local standards. It took us 6 hours to reach the island from Bavaro. 2h30 of minibus collecting other clients,going to run some of the guy errands and what have you. Then one hour on the boat waiting again for other clients, finally 2h of crossing on the catamaran (old junker) . When you get to the island, the horrible food is served and done in 20 min. 2h later, you go back on the boat (2h on the island for 5-6h transport), and the faster boat takes you to swim with a couple of fish and to the very nice sandbank. Then it is in the minibus again for 1-2hours return depending on your stop. All that for $65 per head that I would have happily paid just to be saved the ordeal of going on that day trip. Save yourself a day in hell and use another operator.

During our visit to El Limon we met an incredible person, Juan Emilio. Not only he speaks five languages well, is very polite, thoughtful, knowledgeable, he is also a very kind human being. He didn’t push anything, told us lovely stories and fun details along the way. On the way back, Juan Emilio and his beautiful 9 year old daughter ( who ran to meet him on the mountain), picked up all trash along the way (cups, bottles, bags) to keep their natural treasure (El Limon Waterfall) beautiful. True stewards of nature, taking care of their community just from the goodness of their heart, nothing else. You have to be up by 6:30am for your driver to pick you up from hotel but it is well worth it. Pedro was an awesome driver. Be sure to bring gratuity,it’s the only thing that’s not included as the host (workers) will be taking beautiful pics, selling fresh coconuts n pineapples as well as massages. (They work for small tips) Lunch was good enough for me but I would advise one to eat before leaving. You could ask for as much food as you like when getting the lunch that’s included. Good vibes and great time!!! We will definitely be going back again soon.
