Miyagi Zao Eboshi Resort

A skiing resort located on the northeast ridge on Mt. Ushiroeboshi (1,681m) on the Zao Quasi-national Park. The long, panoramic skiing course that starts at 1,350m above sea level is enjoyable even for beginners. Powder snow, commonly seen on skiing grounds on the pacific side of Japan, is an appealing factor as well.

Hirasawamida no Sugi

This huge cedar tree, about 900-years old, has a height of approx. 45m and a circumference of 10m. It is the only remaining tree lining the path to Joroku Amidado Hall, built at the end of the Heian period. At the base of the cedar is a shrine dedicated to Daruma. For this reason, the tree is also called the Daruma Cedar. Access: Approx. 10 min. by car from Murata IC on the Tohoku Expressway
