We had the great pleasure to spend five nights as visitors to this remarkable sanctuary. It is impossible to overstate the importance of the work going on here to rescue orphaned bonobos and integrate them into successful communities. The residential facilities are beautiful, and the meals were superb. As a destination for day visitors, Lola ya Bonobo also offers a chance to observe bonobos and learn about their great importance -- not to mention the fact that the grounds are very beautiful. Anyone who has a chance to visit -- whether for a few hours or days -- should not miss it.
