Senggigi is the main tourist strip of the Indonesian island of Lombok, stretched out along several kilometers of the beachfront just to the north of the capital, Mataram. The site of a building frenzy in the late 1990s when Lombok was hyped to be the next Bali, the communal violence of 2000 and the 2002 Bali bombing dealt Senggigi a severe blow, with tourist numbers declining precipitously and many construction projects halted.

This tour is run in a fully organized private trip. Accompanied by experienced Guides & Porters. Your porters will exhibit superhuman strength in getting all your camping gear up the mountain and is a constant source of amazement to trekkers! All your camping gear is supplied but if you want to take your own lightweight sleeping bag or sleeping mat that’s fine. Most trekkers will carry a small pack or day pack with personal items such as clothes, toiletries and photography gear. Keep the gear to a minimum and don’t take anything up the mountain that you don’t have to!

This was a very nice trip. We were picked on time, the guides and drivers were nice and friendly. We were taken to 3 islands, and to 3 different snorkeling spots (statues, turtles, fish). First two were VERY overcrowded with tourists, the statues are located on a small area, and all tourists are packed over them, the water is kind of muddy, so it was not nice experience. The fish and turtles, however, were quite nice and fun. The islands are okay, considering they are regular touristy islands, and they took you to quite expensive restaurant to have launch. We did all the tour in about 5-6 hours. We did have a good time and the tour was nice, just it was too many people. Maybe the tour should be done at another time, like hour late or earlier :). Also, I need to note, that the same private tour could be bought in any agency in Senggigi for only 700.000 - 1.000.000 idr per 2 persons, so I find this online price to be quite expensive.

We had a fantastic experience with our driver and tour guide Hardi! He was the most friendly and knowledgeable guide who took us to one of the most do’s of the island - the waterfall Sendang Gile Waterfall. He listened well to what we wanted to do and gave us lots of recommendations. During the trip we shared many laughs together but we also got time to roam around on our own. At the waterfall we got another great local guide who gave us tea, snacks and fruit. This custom tour made our trip to Lombok a hundred times better! The company even provided us with very reasonably priced tickets to the Gili islands and Bali. I recommend this tour to everyone and I will definitely do this again if I ever come to Lombok.
