This shop has the history of its origin & roots written on some products packaging. It's a simple shop, just like any ordinary bakery or confectionery. No fanciful decor. One can see these products are being made & baked fresh- the man at the back end of shop was making doughs of pre-baked products & trays of baked products can be seen. The packagings were beautiful & of good quality. Very well designed & gives a nostalgic touch to their products. We bought 3 items:1. Biscuit Tambun- not bad but a little hard. Definitely not as good as Him Hieang brand from Penang.2. Lotus Biscuit - seems to be their signature item as the old auntie was promoting very hard. Cost RM $3 per piece. Not cheap. Taste is average.3. Crispy Walnut Cake - Each piece is wrapped individually. Taste average & nothing special.Overall, we would say the products we bought are not bad, but we have tried better ones elsewhere in Malaysia. We don't see long queues or big crowds in the shop although we were here or passed by few times during our visit to Jonker Walk. They claimed to be "Malacca Famous product ". Well, judge for yourself.

This has become a non-negotiable part of all my trips to Melaka - breakfast in the living room of a gracious Malaccan lady who sells fried noodles (mee/kuay teow/bee hoon) and nasi kuning, kuehs, and other snacks. I stumbled upon this place on a morning walk many years ago, while I noticed locals on motorbikes stopping and taking away. I don't think she meant to open up her living room but since I asked whether there was a place to sit, she offered me her living room. Her cooking is simple but delicious, and brings back memories of my granny's cooking. You can have the noodles with sambal or topped with curry gravy. On an earlier occasion, I asked whether she sold tea/coffee, and she took my order. Little did I realise that she sent her daughter to a neighbouring coffee shop to ask them to deliver it to her living room. I felt really bad for putting them out, but they were more than happy to extend their hospitality. Now I don't order coffee, but being a gracious host, she offers me complimentary Chinese tea whenever I visit. Sitting in her living room is like visiting a living museum. What you find there transports you back to the 50s-70s. Often I go away feeling that I have just visited a friend in Melaka. On some of my previous walks, I was accompanied by with wife, and she really enjoyed the noodles and the experience. On our last trip, recently, she felt too tired to get up but gave me instructions to take away a serving of the noodles, and being man, I didn't register her request. She was so upset when I returned empty handed, and nothing else I did would pacify her that day. Her stall is diagonally across from "Tee Soon Loong Chan Teo Chew Seafood Restaurant" and is on the stretch of Jalan Hang Kasturi between Jalan Hang Jebat (Jonker Street) and the junction of Jalan Tukang Emas and Jalan Tukang Besi

Famous for toast and coffee. The standard has dropped quite considerably since I last visited many years ago. Normal toast and coffee that is readily found in most coffeeshops. I seem to recall in the old days that the toast had a frozen strip of butter on it which was yummy on a hot afternoon.

The Beef Noodles here is exceptionally good. Love the soup and also the tenderness of the beef. The broth is cooked to perfection and service is very swift too. Definitely lives up to its billing. It is definitely a must try when you are in Tangkak.
