Superb hotel in a lovely setting
Reviewed By citybreaksarefunThe staff here really took genuine concern to ensure our stay was nothing less than excellent. Everyone here exudes a sincere warmth and friendliness. They are attentive to the needs of the clientele, and nothing is too much trouble. Our room was a lake facing suite - decorated in a modern style, extremely spacious and filled with all the mod-cons you would expect. We stayed half-board and very much enjoyed our breakfasts at the garden terrace and our evening meals in the restaurant. Soft drinks and wine are included in the half-board tariff The rear of the hotel is situated in a lovely landscaped garden, a short walk from the town centre and ferry port. The spa and pool are well-maintained and very relaxing Do not miss the bucket lift up the mountain-side - it's got great scenic views and is wonderful fun. All in all I found this stay relaxing, and great value for money I can highly recommend this lovely hotel

Reviewed By Mickie VWe booked a lot of time in advance two suits for two couples. Upon arrival. Since no restaurant on site was available, we asked for glasses and some cutlery in order to have a snack and some wine on the terrace. Service was reluctant. Location very nice and we booked best suits. After dinner on the terrace we went into other suite. There was an unbearable stench in the room. No aircon , nor any ventilation. No solution for stench was offered. Besides that , room lighting was not working partially. Water temperature in shower could not be maintained, it was either freezing or boiling no matter what you did. Room was insect infested no nets. Our demand to leave the next morning on the account of inadequate room was met first with total refusal, then with demand for one additional night paid as fine for leaving sooner even though the room given was totally unacceptable. We eventually paid for a night we did not spend there just to be rid of this hotel and of the horribly un service oriented couple who run it. Truly bad experience. Beware!

Wonderful location, brunt service
Reviewed By inch1957The Locanda Pozzetto is immersed in a beautiful parc located on a hill above Lake Maggiore, the view is stunning in the lake, the opposite shoreline and background Alps... superb! Not many rooms ensure intimacy and coziness and silence, and the clean air completes the atmosphere for a wonderfully relaxing stay. The restaurant is closed in Mondays so for us it was a no-go. On the downside, the hotel’s service is blunt. Our friends were caught sick and unable to be with us so we thought to postpone our stay, but being 3 days short we got very firmly told that the night would be debited to us. So we visited anyway, the place was almost all for us... I sent a positive feedback after our stay, but more than a week later I have still got no acknowledgment. So, The place is wonderful, but that’s the work of nature. The hotel service is terrible, that’s the work of man. How disappointing...

Excellent Value for a Budget Accommodation, Great for Families & Youth
Reviewed By Steven JThis is a cozy, charmingly casual, and lovingly kept hostel. Our host, Fernando, was helpful especially with regard to Italian phraseology. Our rooms were spacious, well-kept, and one of them provided a view of the lake. If your room does not provide such a view, fear not, for the grape arbor provides a lovely view as well. Located just outside of the heart of Laveno, it is an easy walk to the ferry, shops, restaurants, walking paths, and the funivia to the top of the mountain. Breakfast was simple and filling. Our family (5 adults) had a great stay. We would recommend this to anyone who wants a great deal on a budget accommodation.

In Laveno Mombello, one of the loveliest and picturesque village on the Lake Maggiore , you board a coMfortable cable car that takes you near the top of Sasso del Ferro ( 1100 m.). In the solemn silence of the nature a superb panorama is under your eyes: The Alps, the Prealps, Lombarde Lakes and far away the Po's River plain. The Sasso del Ferro , cool in summer and pleasantly mild in winter , is the ideal destination for serene week-end and pleasant walks trough its evergreen woods. The trip takes 16 minutes. At the cableway station , together with a Souvenirs Shop there is an Hotel with Restaurant with a breath taking terrace and a snack Bar where you can share the thrill of the taking off of HandGliders and ParaGliders. Enjoy yourself !

Just about room for 2 people in the buckets , every 4th on or so even has a canopy. For the full thrill , take an open top bucket/ Fabulous experience for about 15 Euros.

Reviewed By Alberto1968Just opposite the lake front on the first floor of a nice building you will find Hostaria del Golfo. Small intimate just a few table, probably a flat converted into a restaurants you will be welcomed by the very polite owner, gentle, smiling and genuine. Well what a rare combination. Take a seat, from the windows you will see the lake, the water seems to almost touch the tables. What a view. Food you can choose between lake fish sea fish and some pastas and meats.We had a lake fish risotto, delicious ! Accomanied by two glasses of wonderful white wines. We finished on a sweet side with some sorbetto with chestnut honey. Another delicacy for you. Prices are very reasonable. So you will not regret it. Guaranteed.
