There were 6 in our party looking for a nice meal after work, and we weren't disappointed. I had the calamari followed by the lamb and both dishes were delicious. The atmosphere in the room is relaxed and friendly, and the waiter was very attentive and polite, and the wait between courses was just right.Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals and we will come back again.

We decided to try here for a Saturday night out with friends as a change from Wildwood across the way.......Next time we'll go to Wildwood. The food was OK, nothing special just OK. The main thing that will deter us from going back was the service. There didn't appear to be a manager on the restaurant floor and the young staff were enjoying a good chat. They had mastered the art of looking around just over the customers heads so as not to make eye contact. It wasn't a particularly busy evening and we had to wait for staff to come over to us to take orders. They didn't watch our glasses to offer more drinks and a couple of times it took us some time to attract any attention to get service. When we left, as we walked to the door one of them walked towards us and instead of opening the door and saying "goodnight" she just went straight to the welcome desk and put her head down looking at the diary.Very disappointing and these four customers won't be returning.Dear customer,Thank you for your feedback. As I said in my answer to the previous review (which looks the exact copy of this one), we do apologise if our staff was not attentive enough, but I can assure you that they were not trying to avoid you. It was actually quite busy that night (as all our Saturday nights), but still, we will make sure this won’t happen again. However, it is a bit bizarre to see two reviews in a row manifestly advertising another restaurant, and in both cases not faulting our food. We hope there is no conflict of interest here, and that these are both genuine reviews. Although the service is a crucial part of the dining experience, you'd agree with me that - at times - there might be cases where the service is not up to the usual standards. If this a regular issue, then there is clearly a problem. But, as you can see from our previous reviews, we always try to deliver an excellent service. Perhaps, a second chance could tell you whether this is a real issue, or your bad experience was just a one-off.However, we do understand if you prefer other restaurants, it’s just a shame our fresh food was nothing special for you.

Not great atmosphere, seated in isolated area, cold. Waited ages for desser, waitress had left for the evening. No one paid us much attention after main dish plates were taken away. Finally, I caught attention of someone and asked for the bill. And restaurant wasn't that busy either, so I would have expected better service from staff.Hi Kam,Please could you forward your contact details to [email protected] with the date and time of your visit and the reference NUN2810 and one of our team will be in touch to discuss your review with you,Many thanks...

Anthony`s Cafe Bistro

Our first trip to Anthony’s having heard from many friends how wonderful the restaurant is. They were not wrong, The entire taster evening experience was quite simply incredible. So much so that we’ve booked in to visit again. The welcome from the buoyant and attentive team was excellent and throughout the whole evening the service was just spot on. So often we see moderate and often poor service yet at Anthony’s you were greeted and looked after like an old family friend and that included the chefs who came to speak with us later on, thus giving us the opportunity to thank them for their brilliance. Our 5 courses were themed around the decades and we were asked to pinpoint which decade each course was ‘famous’ for. Great fun. Our platter of starters and desserts were something to behold visually and tasted incredible. Every course hit the spot and showed the talents of the chefs. I really don’t think we’ve ever had a more stunning meal in the UK. Ever. Well done to the team at Anthony’s. We will be back.

It has to be said that the ambiance is just right, the setting is just right, the service is just right .... the food and wine just right which all adds up to an excellent evening. In fact you can say that our experience of Chapel House was a resounding ..”we will return to experience the food -superb, the service - faultless, the wine- extensive list, oh and probably the best liquor coffee we’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking” ... Thank you for an excellent evening. We are delighted that you enjoyed your meal and look forward to seeing you again soon. Best Wishes

San Giovanni

Reviewed By deeeeMidlands

Had an evening meal with friends who had been there before. We were very impressed by the location and the set up . Bar staff was good atmosphere was good car park was absolutely choc a block on a Wednesday evening. Food was ordered and starters were good but huge portions.....my main course was a disappointment a fillet steak with green pepper sauce .... steak was swimming in sauce and the sauce was very salty. Hence it had to go back and then I requested it without the sauce which the chef did and it was ok , nothing to write home about . My husbands steak was good as was everyone else’s food. But I have to say their portions are very large and we cannot eat such large portions. Prices are good. Overall a good evening out .
