Since my fiancé knows I like arts like sculptures in different subjects and paintings. he brought me to this place... outside of the museum gave me a feeling of excitement.... Inside was definitely a breathtaking experience... all the way from the Philippines and I can see these arts in different concepts and mediums were mind opening...

Musee Berbere de Tamezret

Reviewed By Mik-Bak

This is probably the best little museum I have ever seen. A very friendly and knowledgeable host, who will give you a tour around the cave dwelling. He is obviously very passionate about Berber history and will show you how to write your name in Berber!! No entrance ticket. Just a voluntary donation at the end or you can buy some of the souvenirs which are well made and a refreshing change to the usual rubbish souvenirs you find in almost every museum round he world. Absolutely no pressure from the host to buy or donate, but you will want to support his effort. The village of Tamezret is fabulous and original, very much unlike the tourist trap of Matmata. Take time to walk around the narrow streets and the view from the top should not be missed.
