Nestled in the heart of the always beautiful Lamoureux Park - Take a stroll through the park and stop by this fantastic community museum featuring some great exhibits. See how locals of the past lived. VERY knowledgeable curator who showed us around. A true passion him, as he travels far and wide, from church basements to old home's attics to bring you some fantastic artifacts.

At Ontario Power Generation (OPG), our Information Centres are an integral part of our generating sites and as a precautionary measure, we have made the decision to temporarily close the Saunders Hydro Dam Visitor Centre and its programming and meetings effective Friday, March 13, 2020. OPG is closely monitoring the World Health Organization, Health Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Health for updates regarding the status of the COVID-19 virus and will continue to update and adjust our continuity plans as the situation evolves. At the moment, the threat to OPG’s operations and assets is low. As the province’s largest clean power generator, with operations across Ontario, the health and safety of our employees and the public is of utmost importance to OPG. At the same time, we have a responsibility to generate reliable electricity, around-the-clock. We have robust continuity plans in place to ensure our stations continue to run safely and continue to produce power for the province.

I had no idea what a great cycling spot Cornwall would turn out to be. Extensive cycling network including the Waterfront trail. Cycled the trail from Cornwall to Morrisburg (87 km return) with so much to see along the way including the Moses-Saunders power plant, the Lost Villages museum, Upper Canada Village and Bird sanctuary, the Long Salt parkway and the St Lawrence water views. The trail is paved off road for most of this section. The next day we cycled from Cornwall to Quebec, most on-road thru this section with a wide bike lane and maybe better water views. Took a detour north to view the St Raphael’s ruins, highly recommend.

Lamoureux Park is a large park running along the shoreline of the St. Lawrence River in the Downtown area of Cornwall. The park is very popular with tourists and residents alike, and is a great place to run, bike or stroll. The Waterfront Trail connects many points of interest in the Park, including: Marina 200, Cornwall Aquatic Centre, Cornwall Civic Complex, Cornwall Curling Centre, Lions' Club Bandshell, Citizen of the Year Walkway, Cornwall Community Museum, Splash Pad, a public boat lunch, and the Rotary Eco-Gardens. In addition to hosting these amenities, Lamoureux Park also serves at the main gathering place for community events and festivals. The park is also mere steps away from shopping and dining. Free public parking and access to public restrooms is available.

This is a beautiful park full of biking and walking trails, picnic tables, playground, splash pad and plenty of parking. My daughter and I enjoyed a picnic lunch by the St. Lawrence river and then went for a nice long walk. It's the perfect way to spend a beautiful day.

Loved this place Kawartha ice cream.So good at least 15 flavours to choice from. Sundaes, milkshakes, Banana Splits. Staff were very friendly and helpful they work really hard. Flavours we had were Tiger, Almond Mocha,Death by Chocolate all excellent. If your not sure of a flavour they will give you a sample to try. Lots of picnic tables to sit and enjoy. Just a fun place to see all the families enjoying the mini putt, driving range, golf course. Great job of keeping the place updated and clean.
