Tatev Monastery

The Monestary is about 1000 years and is built on the clif edge of the mountain. You appricaite the difficulty, the passion and the inspiration which must have been the driving force in completing such a difficult project. Take your time and listen to the serenity of the scenery - surrounding valleys and mountains.

Karahundj (Armenia's Stonehenge)

Reviewed By hayks2021

One of the oldest places of civilization on earth. The place that people have built to observe the stars, planets, the Universe over 7500 years ago. Just a unique place, with its energy, a mystery, an amazing name, which is consonant with Wiltshire Stonehenge (there are quite a few hypotheses that they have much in common and a very close connection).

Wings of Tatev

Reviewed By LuizDutraNeto - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

"Wings of Tatev" is a modern 5,7 km aerial cable car connecting the village of Halidzor to awesome "Tatev Monastery". Its construction ended in 2010 and it is the longest non-stop double track cable car in the world! The ride takes 12 minutes (much better than driving 40 minutes on a mountain road) and gives the sensation of flying over the gorge of River Vorotan, with amazing views of the valley below, its villages and old abandoned buildings. "Wings of Tatev" is a non-profit organization and all its revenues are invested in the restoration of "Tatev Monastery" and in the development of local communities. Unmissable! Enjoy!

Medieval Goris Cave Dwellings

Reviewed By AndrewTEllis - Cheadle, United Kingdom

What a fantastic place! Can't believe people lived here right up to 1960. 425 steps (I counted them) down, a walk across a swinging bridge (exciting) and a wander round the old village with cave dwellings, buildings and even a church. Warning: then 425 steps up! (But for the less fit, a taxi service is available).
