This museum is simply amazing and although only open at weekends ( more volunteers needed to extend this!) make sure you visit when next in the Sorrento village. Located at the end of the coastal village - next to the historic Watts cottage that recalls the life of early peninsula pioneers- it profiles so many aspects of local history that Are both known and unknown - from The piano that accompanied Dame Nellie Melba on one of her many visits to the area — the loss of Australia’s Prime Minister Holt at sea nearby and William Buckley’s connection. For those lucky enough to dabble in family history and a local connection there is much to be sourced - and for the rest of us - well there’s just so much to explore - and they have a wonderful selection of souvenir items to take home .
