To be fair, the chips were ok. I was surprised that a bag of chips is now £3? I sent my 12 year old son in for 2 bags, he was charged £6, and they were the smallest bags I have ever seen. I feel like he was ripped off because he went in without an adult, as this has happened before.

I have used this fish & chip shop for a number of years, passing others to go to this one. It's always busy, which shows its reputation for good food and service. The food is cooked in small batches so most times it it's fresh an hot. Worth while visitingThanks for the review , things can be a bit "choppy" at times in the chippy :)

A large group of us stayed here for the first time and we all were pleasantly surprised with the quality, service and staff, so impressed we ate in every night to our delight, the meals were so good we didn't want to venture anywhere else.The rooms were superb and very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble, we felt welcome and treated exceptionally well by all staff particularly Margaretta who even helped us get an early start to an event on her day off.The was only a small niggle and that was in July we fancied eating outside but smoking was allowed and encouraged on the exterior dining tables, and not in a designated smoking area.A great find and we'll be back.

Been here on a couple of occasions and enjoyed the meal, however being a Yorkshire man I prefer haddock to cod, but do not like it with skin on. Why on earth can't fish and chip shops south of Yorkshire cook haddock without skin. Beats me !!!That said, the cod is as good as you can get around, the staff are always pleasant and its reasonably priced. Keep it coming guys but please learn to cook haddock without the skin, or is it frozen and not fresh?

We called in on a Wednesday evening without a booking with no idea what to expect.Following a most warm welcome we were seated, after an aperitif, within about half an hour. I hope I do not cause anyone a problem by admitting that both of us asked to base our meal on the Table d'hote but selecting a third course from the A' la carte menu.Both of our meals were delightful and my steak (on the Table d'hote menu) was the best I have tasted this year!We rounded the meal off with a Prince Charles coffee each and agreed to return at the earliest opportunity.Thank you for your kind words, mixing & matching the menus is never a problem. Prince Charles Coffee like your style!

Highly recommend La Foglia after spending the evening their last nightGreat food at a reasonably price Recommend Risotto Fruit de Mer.Starters are great try the Octopuss, if it is on the menu for the day. Fish is excellent as was the Tagliatelle Verde al Carbonar Chicken Rollatuni as chosen by the other members of our family.Staff are excellant friendly & helpful We will diffinatly be returning very soon
