We read the reviews of the various restaurants in Mbale, and selected this one. Good choice!
A large menu! And a great many vegetarian selections! And the manager patiently explained the ones we didn't understand.
We were 3 people, and all our meals were delicious. We split the 3 vegetable spring rolls, then I had the paneer with spinach, and we ended with ice cream. (If I have to voice a criticism, there was too much spinach and too little paneer in it.)
The place appeared clean, and the service was excellent. It was a friendly place, and the manager came to check that we didn't need anything in the middle of the meal.
An added bonus - we met lovely people at the next table - U.S. doctors volunteering in Mbale.
It's a simple place with inexpensive meals, but a large selection of Indian food, and everything we had was delicious.

Traveller's Inn is located in the heart of Mbale town, and is primarily run as a hotel. However, they have a lovely rooftop bar that looks over all of Mbale; it's a great place to watch the sunset and grab a cold Nile beer and some chips. Check it out!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Mbale. The balcony offers a lovely view of Republic street and Wanale, and the service is consistently good. They offer a range of local and Western foods, but my favorite is their tomato soup, served hot with toast or chapati.

After the disaster with Cafe Arabica, Endiro came to our rescue!!! Found them on TripAdvisor and what a breath of fresh air!!!! This is definitely the place to be.
