The Suggestibles at The Cumberland Arms

You supply the suggestions. They supply the laughs! The Suggestibles improv comedy group plays The Cumberland Arms the first Saturday each month (July & December varies). The Suggestibles have been pulling crowds to the upstairs venue of this real ale pub since 2004. The six-strong cast takes suggestions from the audience to inspire scenes, sketches and songs. If you like Who's Line is it Anyway? You'll love the Suggestibles! The night is very different to stand-up. It's theatrical with a friendly, party atmos. The Cumberland Arms is a short walk from Newcastle's quayside, (nearest metro is Byker) with wonderful views from its huge beer garden and B&B rooms. A real ale pub, with snug fires, friendly folk, and a warm welcome.

Went last night and had an unforgettable experience! If you haven't been to see Kynren yet, you are missing an incredible spectacle- made all the more amazing as the whole show depends on incredible, selfless volunteers, Everything, from booking to leaving the car park- still buzzing from what we had witnessed- was well organised and seamless. Everyone we met, from the carpark attendants to the marshals and cast, were professional and pleasant and it was very obvious how proud they were to be associated with the production. The show itself was breath-taking-the effects, music and of course, the wonderful cast, (who evidently enjoyed themselves as much as we did) made it a truly moving and unique experience which was over far too quickly! Please do yourselves a favour, do not miss out- go and see it!

Been twice now and it’s always a lovely experience! 1st time was for Motown which was fantastic and we were front row seats and also in the VIP Suite which is worth the extra money, especially for the break. 2nd time was for Bodyguard which was also brilliant! Can’t wait for Thriller Live next year ????
