Top 6 Nightlife in Leicester Square / Shaftesbury Avenue, England

March 14, 2022 Hector Krause

The crown jewels, Buckingham Palace, Camden Market…in London, history collides with art, fashion, food, and good British ale. A perfect day is different for everyone: culture aficionados shouldn't miss the Tate Modern and the Royal Opera House. If you love fashion, Oxford Street has shopping galore. For foodies, cream tea at Harrod’s or crispy fish from a proper chippy offers classic London flavor. Music and book buffs will love seeing Abbey Road and the Sherlock Holmes Museum (at 221B Baker Street, of course).

Great spot next to Oxford Street. Professional staff and they really care of the quality of drinks. When the barrel with lager almost finish one of the bartenders gave me a pint of lager. But she knew that the beer last beer from the barrel doesn't taste good so she changed for a new pint. I don't think so that in diferent bar someone would be able to do it. Unfortunately I can't remember her name but she is liitle chubby smiling girl with long dark hair and she is really good what she does. She cares. Well done. Can't wait to have a drinks soon.

Stopped for a drink and managed to get a seat in the small out side area. Watched bustle of Leicester Square, in the sunshine with a cold drink - bliss.

I'll start with the comedy. That was amazingly funny. We had 1 compare who was very good, doing small fillers before and after each comedian, then 3 comedians doing 20-30mins sets each. Hilariously funny (helped by the guy who sounded so drunk he couldn't even speak his name in the front row - comedy gold for any live show!) each one of the performers were on top form. I would happily go and watch any of them doing stand-up again and would recommend it as an evening if you are in London and not sure what to do. The venue itself was split into multiple rooms. We were in one room for the evening meal (part of a package), food and drink were good quality, nice friendly staff and fast service. You then went into another room to watch the comedians. This was in rows of seating like a normal gig, so while a great night it's not the most social for a bigger group, but that's just to do with the venue, not the entertainment. The fact it there were at least 3 big groups of us taking up a large chunk seating, maybe a different layout with tables/chairs might have been better suited. But it doesn't really detract from a good night of comedy :) There was a dj on in the bar area after, athough we didn't stay for that so I can't say if they were any good. At the point of leaving it was pretty quiet volume wise and felt more like the end of the night, not that it was open to 1am!
