StarDisc

This is a free attraction, basically a sculpture at the top of a hill overlooking Wirksworth and surrounding areas that shows the constellations within the circle. Set above a woodland park which is great for dog walking complete with fire pit (children loved lighting a fire here) and several sculptures to explore in the old quarry. After dark, the benches around the edge of the stardisc illuminate with small red LEDs which are charged by solar PV during the day. Great spot for a picnic.

Surprise View

We parked in surprise view car park, accepts card in the pay and display. Easy walk to the top where there are several rocks which you can climb. You get a 360 view of the surrounding area, we carried on walking around as there are several little paths you can follow. Highly recommend going

Thorpe Cloud

Reviewed By Lex8787 - Huntingdon, United Kingdom

A little too challenging for younger children or the elderly to go to the top, but there are plenty of easier routes around the base which still give great views of the scenery. Well worth the effort to get to the top if you’re up to it, stunning views in every direction.
