Very Good Stay
Reviewed By vinit_nagdaWe stayed here for 2 nights. The room category was Cottage which is on the lowest floor. The view of the mountains is superb. Food - Since there was a larger group of JAIN we were served JAIN food (some items) on day 1 which was corrected on day 2. Food spread was good & tasty. The staff was very co-operative & welcoming. Room - The rooms very cleaned but needs more attention especially towards the celling's where you can easily spot the spiderwebs.

Reviewed By bamankadWorst service ever.....We have reached at around 5.00 pm, there is no hot water in bathroom as per policy of hotel they start it only in morning. TV, phone not working in any of our room ( we have 03 room ). Service is very bed even you have to call 3-4 times even for drinking water. food is average. So, I strongly not recommend this hotel in kausani......

Good Hotel at Very Nice Location
Reviewed By KumaradityaS1I booked Hotel Shivay while visiting Kausani last October. Initially, after reading reviews from TripAdvisor, I was a little confused as there were both positive and negative feedbacks; still, as the hotel fit in my budget and the location was good, I wanted to give it a try. The best part of this hotel is its excellent location. The photograph you are seeing is from the lower road and you have ample parking spaces in front of the hotel. This road, towards the right side of the photograph, is going up and taking a bend, and you can access a higher stretch of the same road from the 3rd floor (as common with hill houses). The upper entrance at 3rd floor is located right in the middle of the marketplace, just where buses stop and shared jeeps line up. True, you cannot get a glance of the majestic Himalayan ranges from the hotel itself. Properties located on the higher roads are better to have a view from room, but at the same time they are costlier. What is the point of paying a lot extra, me and my wife thought, when we can stay at a budget accommodation and just walk a few paces to watch the mountains in the dawn and the dusk? And by a few paces, I really mean a few paces: you can just come out of the hotel, walk through the crossroads diagonally, and take the alley left to have a great view of the snow-capped peaks. However, if you want a better view uninterrupted by messy electric poles and wires (and take great photographs) you might need to walk up all the way to the Gandhi Ashram.

Another exploratory road trip
Reviewed By Pranav SSometime in the year 2016 on our way to Yamnotri, it was late in the evening when we were almost on the outskirts of Barkot, Uttarakhand, we knew we had to halt. We stopped before beginning our hunt for a humble accommodation, when we looked up and found ourselves looking at a startling view of starlit sky. One of the most memorable sight of all the road trips undertaken by me. We didn't have to look for long before we discovered this simple and beautiful guest house right on the main road. Lovely and welcoming staff who made sure to feed us with home cooked food and ensured that we slept off well. The best part of the guest house is the spectacular view of snow peak mountain, from the balcony. An experience worth cherishing. I had the opportunity to visit the place again and was welcomed with same love and affection.
