Relaxing, comfortable holiday
Reviewed By amrutha_easwaranWonderful property. excellent location. Comfortable, clean rooms. So, we had initially booked the tree house(erumudam) as the photos looked great. But on reaching there, we realized that the rooms are very small, cozy and beautiful nevertheless. We were finding it difficult to manage with all our luggage (even opening and closing the suitcase). So, Mr. Manoj offered to change our rooms the very next day and shifted us into some better rooms (the bamboo cottage). Mr. Manoj went the extra mile to make sure we enjoyed our stay and gave us multiple options and suggestions for things to do, places to visit etc. Absolutely excellent food. Homely vegetarian meals served hot. Excellent service and such warmth in the service. Would definitely recommend you to book your stay with them, if you plan to visit Wayanad.

Reviewed By 688sathyaaOur third visit to the retreat with two 70+ elders accompanying us this time. Unexpected rains gave us a chance to enjoy the lush greenery, sight and sound of rain against the backdrop and silence of the forest. Surreal. Night Safari with Manu was just as exciting as our previous trips with sightings of wild elephants. With mobility constraints, this time we spent more time watching the field from the cottages facing the field. The "elusive" big cat still remains elusive to us! but we know it will happen when the time is right for us to meet each other :) The hilight was on the last day of the stay. Close to dusk, while keenly watching the forest for any movement, from the comfort of the cottage, we spotted a herd of bison moving through the woods. Tracing the herd's movements through the forest as it eventually reached the water hole in the field, was exciting to experience together as a family. It got even better when we got on to the watch tower and got a closer view of them. Over the years, host family has diligently built a beautiful community of wild life enthusiasts by sharing their passion and love for nature with the visitors to their retreat . We are one of their successful converts :) always a pleasure to meet other guests in the dining area with similar interests. This time the conversation was more about how many visits we have all done to the retreat, especially during pandemic! Amit's dishes were delicious and tasted home made. Manu, Bishnu and Harish were ever ready to help with requests. Our first trip out of state post pandemic, in a jungle setting, with two elderly members couldn't have been more warm and comfortable. Reviewed By briantheophilwilliamWhere do I begin,, we stayed at the property for about a week, right from the drive to the property, to leaving the property on the last day,, every bit was amazing,, the staff members are great people too, we were taken care by Darshan, he catered to all our needs, we were very comfortable with him, the property has many fruiting trees, and the best part is we can responsibly pluck the fruits and consume them, fruits like Mangoes, sugarcane, Figs, Star fruit, etc etc,, there are many more, the place also has many indoor and outdoor games like TT, badminton , carom etc, the place is owned by the famous writer Sebastian Joseph and we were fortunate to meet a person like him, he is a true gentleman, after meeting him I realised that the reason why the team was so courteous,,, it was obvious that Mr Joseph had put enough time to get a great set of employees to work for Agraharam, Mr Joseph and his wife share the same passion for nature, we were treated as family, Mrs Joseph cut fresh mangoes for my kids, my kids were thrilled to eat fresh produce right off the tree. This place also has a good swimming pool, it about 4.5feet in depth, the best part of the entire stay was this place is a pet friendly place, everybody loved my Baby Coral, she is an English Cocker spaniel, we took long walks about 2kms to and fro to a stream nearby, Darshan insisted that he’ll tag along for safety, which was very kind of him, we assured him that we’ll be safe, he also reminded us that Airtel won’t work and if we needed anything there we wont be able to communicate , we smiled and said we’’ll be back safely, we didn’t want to trouble him. Alacarte Food served here was delicious, they serve yummy buffet breakfast and its different every day. Agraharam also has a good kids play area, which has swings, seesaw and a Slide, and all around the property you’ll find huge ,,, I mean huge tall swings, and there are many number of Hammocks as well, and not to forget, for Cycle lovers they have 4 to 5 Btwin cycles as well. One thing to remember when going there from Bangalore is you cannot take pets via Nagarahole forest, you will have to take a roundabout route thru the village and then enter the forest , don’t forget to take a token at the entry of the forest with costs you 50rs, if you don’t it’s a fine of 1000rs at the exit. All I can say is a “BIG THANKYOU” to the entire team at Agraharam. We had a delightful stay , and when we were leaving we were fortunate enough to get a signed copy of Mr Sebastian Joseph’s Book Naxal Varghese: Take-Off And Tailspin. We have never had such a wonderful stay in any of the resorts that we have stayed in the last 10 to 15 years, we for sure are gonna go there again and again.

Tranquil stay at Jungle Castle

Viji and Prasad are great hosts and we did not feel as if we were staying in a home stay - it felt more like home. This was one of our best home stays trips done till date.. Food was fantastic and the location is very nice too surrounded by greenery. Vishnu and Dipin who help out in the home stay were also very friendly and provided good info of nearby places we could visit.
