Cacao Lodge

Un bon pied à terre à Mamoudzou

Reviewed By mathoulac

Had 7 nights there. It gives you what you need but not more. Breakfast was not high quality and not fresh (even the coffee was not fresh). The staff are nice. And the location is pretty good close to everything you need.

Le Trevani

Back in time

Spent there 1 night on business as it was convenient to our agenda. The hotel reminds me of Yemen hotels in the pre-war time, rooms abandoned, bathrooms clean, however half falling apart, low electrical safety, etc etc. Best is that in the rooms they have mosquito nets...with the amount of little killers it is best to sleep under it. To have some insecticide to spray at night would have been nice. Spent the whole night having nightmares about falling out of the small bed/net and being bitten by mosquitoes (slept across to be able to fit). Had lunch there and food was ok. I had a grilled espadon but some of my colleagues dared for a tuna tartar...Desert was a watery creme brule. Best was breakfast where they have Lavazza coffee and freshly baked (frozen) croissants and pain au chocolate. Location is fine, by the sea, which I did not jump into. Sand is dark and just wonder what else swims around considering the insalubre practices of Mayotte. All in all, next time I would rather stay in the city and take the burden of the morning traffic but instead will be able to have a good night sleep and will be able to have good wifi connection to work.
