The Ionian Sea hotel is situated on the south end of the island, in the quiet, unspoilt green countryside 7 kilometres from the picturesque town of Lixouri. The hotel is mere 100 meters from a beautiful red sandy beach. Built in extensive grounds, this hotel in Kefalonia offers two swimming pools and one pool for children, aqua park, a pool-bar, restaurant and a Greek traditional tavern (with traditional cuisine), one playground, children's station, sport facilities, mini market, parking and a beautiful natural garden. Our hotel welcomes you in its tasteful and friendly environment. This is the perfect place to stay for your vacations in Kefalonia. The 87 rooms are modern and attractively decorated. Fabulous stay at Ionian Sea
Reviewed By Kathplus3Fabulous hotel, every member of staff was super friendly going out of their way to make sure everything was just right. Especially the greeter in the restaurant every morning, lunch and evening my son couldn’t wait to see if he remembered our room number. Food was really good, my children always found something to eat with pasta options available each day. The hotel is quite remote and there are only a couple of options to have a change of scenery we took taxis to lixoury but there was also a restaurant on the beach and another about 20 minutes walk from the hotel. Could always get a sun bed round a pool if we were up later the water park opened at 10 and usually had some spare (even during half term week when it was busier). Water park workers were equally as friendly especially Alena? Who let my son lifeguard with her and even turn on the slides one morning, she was always willing to lend a hand to the little ones down the slide to a parent at the bottom. The beach was quiet but sun bed always available and the clay made a fun activity for the children. Only 6€ for 2 beds and an umbrella was a lovely change to the pool. We went on a day trip on Gloria (boat trip) which was also fantastic and would recommend to anyone looking for a change. Transfer was wonderful don’t worry about the ferry was the best transfer I have had (we arrived through the day so was a lovely addition). I would recommend this hotel for anyone (maybe hire a car if you like more bars and restaurants)

Great experience for the whole family
Reviewed By Georgios-ArtA wonderful holiday period. The establishment and the location are unique. Villa Carina is a well cared property, with shaped in a modern and practical manner. Dimitris, the owner, was waiting for us and offered some homemade lemonade. The apartment are in great shape (fully equipped) and was spacious and comfortable for all the family (2 adults + 2 year old child). The garden is amazing with plenty of area to stare (even from the balconies) or enjoy through walking among nice corners with ornaments, children play area and plants. Overall, we stayed for 4 days. Dimitris was always welcoming us and available to give us great worthy tips and advice of what to avoid. We would definitely keep this place as a point of reference (and promote to other people). Thank you for everything!

Rottweiler on the loose
Reviewed By martini_onthegoI would like to inform everyone that the owners of Casa Kounopetra allow their Rottweiler adult dog to run freely around. I arrived with my 2 children and we had to leave the place immediately. It was not safe for them or us. When we asked the owners to place the dog on a leash they said no.

Reviewed By Manil1986Dies war unsere erste Unterkunft während unseres Kefalonia Urlaubs. Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Ioanna empfangen. Es handelt sich um eine wunderschöne saubere kleine Anlage, mit wenigen Zimmern, einem sehr schönen Garten und direktem Zugang zum Meer. Man hört hier weder Autos noch sonstiges. Man hört einfach nur das Meer rauschen. Es war einfach alles perfekt. Die Zimmer sind sehr sehr sauber, die Betten super bequem und es ist alle vorhanden was benötigt wird. Kühlschrank, Handtücher, Kaffeemaschine, Fön usw. Wir waren absolut glücklich hier Gast sein zu dürfen und können allen Menschen die keine Lust auf Massentourismus und Pauschalurlaub haben hier her zu kommen. Man kann zu Fuß 2-3 Tavernen erreichen. Wir bedanken uns nochmal recht herzlich für diesen Traumurlaub <3 Stephanie und Manuel

IL POSTO SBAGLIATO PER ME
Reviewed By Patrizia642014Se come me siete rispettosi degli animali ma non li volete intorno e avete il sonno leggero non andatateci. Appartamenti molto spaziosi e comodi ( due terrazze ampie) pulizia dubbia ma soprattutto 4 cani liberi e altrettanti gatti (se non di più) che appena scendi dalla macchina ti vengono letteralmente tra i piedi tanto che devi fare attenzione a non calpestarli fino a che non sei entrato in camera. La notte stanno davanti alla porta di camera e abbaiano tutti insieme facendo abbaiare anche tutti i cani del vicinato iniziano un concerto che dura per un bel po’ . Questo anche più di una volta durante la notte anche se fortunatamente non tutte le notti in cui soliamo rimasti li’. Diciamo che su due settimane forse una sono riuscita a dormire ma naturalmente non giorni consecutivi. Per chi ama i cani e i gatti e li vuole accanto è l’ideale peccato che non sia stato scritto da nessuna parte altrimenti non ci sarei andata.
