Dover (/ˈdoʊvər/) is a town and major ferry port in the home county of Kent, in South East England. It faces France across the Strait of Dover, the narrowest part of the English Channel, and lies south-east of Canterbury and east of Maidstone. The town is the administrative centre of the Dover District and home of the Dover Calais ferry through the Port of Dover. The surrounding chalk cliffs are known as the White Cliffs of Dover.

The Sailors' Church, home of the Herald of Free Enterprise memorial window. The closest English Parish Church to mainland Europe. The church is open 1000-1300 Mon-Sat during the summer months. It's within walking distance or a short taxi ride of Dover Cruise Terminal and Dover Priory mainline railway station. Dover Castle is about 15 minutes walk away, but it's uphill from us. The main Sunday service (Church of England) is at 1045.
