Creative Retreats and Holidays

Our glass studio in Chilham, near Canterbury, Kent, is the home of creative glass courses in Kent, UK. We run short breaks, creative courses, creative workshops and weekly classes as follows: copper foiled stained glass courses, leaded stained glass classes, glass fusing taster days and courses and glass applique taster days and glass courses for small groups and individuals. It's the perfect way to spend a few rainy days during your visit to Ashford, Canterbury or the beautiful Kent Downs. Taster days from £90 include use of all necessary equipment, all materials, refreshments and lunch, for a memorable experience. Two or three day breaks can include visits to other local attractions for inspiration if desired. We do regular weekly classes too if you live in the area. PLEASE NOTE THAT WHILE THE UK IS IN LOCKDOWN DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WE HAVE HAD TO SUSPEND RUNNING GLASS COURSES. ALL BOOKINGS AFFECTED WILL BE RESCHEDULED FOR MUTUALLY CONVENIENT DATES. We'll be back very soon!

Such a wonderfully enjoyable experience and you make something unique at the end of it. I did a one day class with Mattt she was so enthusiastic and ever so easy to like and get along with, truly nothing was too much trouble. During this Covid pandemic I was a little concerned about being safe because I am clinically vulnerable, but I needn't have worried because Mattt had her hygiene protocols and routine well in place and the class size was small enough to allow for good social distancing, she kept a vigilant eye on everything which allowed me to stop worrying and just enjoy the day and the wonderful new experience. We had morning tea/coffee break and for lunch Mattt even made this super tasty bread to go along with the home made soup, the lady is tireless and has so much knowledge which she is so very generous and willing to share. She made the day enjoyable because I knew within half an hour that she was just so pleasant and easy to get along with. I would highly recommend this experience to people because no prior skill set is necessary and there are so many class options available, you are spoilt for choice. I went on my own and felt very comfortable, but the choice is yours. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable day out , I will return, all the very best wishes.

Chilham Village

Such a gorgeous square with free parking, two pubs, a tea room, a church, a post office AND a castle with gorgeous grounds which are open (usually) from June to September. A lovely character-filled hideaway from the city life, but close enough to Canterbury for comfort. Lots of lovely walking trails around too.

We love The White Horse! Always a lovely atmosphere with friendly service and great drinks! Most recently we visited the pub garden after the first lockdown and it was perfect! So fun to be back out and also enjoying our first time in the garden. All of our previous visits, we have been cosy indoors! Cannot wait until April to visit again! Our son loves the dog too!

Badgers Hill Farm & Cidery

Great new owners, just reopened last weekend Feb and loads of new wonderful stock this spring. Owners very helpful and genuine and really lovely people and they deserve to do well. It was a real pleasure to go there and purchase some excellent plants and pots. They are professional and clearly know what they are doing. Coffee take away counter during lockdown and great home made scones and cakes all good- a big plus.
