Buxton is a spa town in Derbyshire, in the East Midlands region of England. It has the highest elevation – about 1,000 feet (300 m) above sea level – of any market town in England. Close to the county boundary with Cheshire to the west and Staffordshire to the south, Buxton is described as "the gateway to the Peak District National Park". A municipal borough until 1974, Buxton was then merged with other localities lying primarily to the north, including Glossop, to form the local government district and borough of High Peak within the county of Derbyshire. Despite being in the East Midlands, economically Buxton is within the sphere of influence of Greater Manchester. The population of the town was 22,115 at the 2011 Census.

My friend and I wanted a good eating experience prior to going to see 'Giselle' at the Opera House. The eats were good, very good. An excellent Special Chow Mein and a superb Beef with Mushroom in Black Bean Sauce. However, the rest of the experience was less than fine. First, the restaurant was cold - damn cold. We kept our coats on throughout. Second, the few other diners (a table of 5) and we were dealt with in a very brisk manner, verging on the off-hand. The staff's entire focus seemed to be on the huge and never ending queue for Take-Aways. The ever opening/closing door probably accounted for the cold restaurant. I also realised that the Take-Away menu was the most prominent on the internet and that almost all reviews covered the Take-Away aspect of the operation. So, Panda. Not really so 'Great' unless and until you address this apparent imbalance between the Eat-Ins and the Take-Aways.!

We had a fantastic meal from here on Sunday, the food always seems to be extra special the days that Khomkhai herself is in the kitchen. The satay dip has thicker sauce and little things like that.The takeaway is also really good for vegetarians with a good variety of dishes to choose from.

We had a pleasant meal in this very small restaurant which appears to have Taiwanese management and a Trans-Pacific, rather than Japanese, menu. The sushi was simply a number of California rolls made to order: whether that means that a person eating on their own would be expected to work a single roll we did not discover. There were Bento boxes and curry dishes: we did not try the various sweets on offer,

Ordered a mixed kebab roll last week while staying at the Premier Inn around the corner. It was OK, but had far too little salad in it for my taste and the chicken and lamb tikka was chopped up into very small pieces (I prefer big chunks)

We ordered from Tikka Villa for New Year and whilst there was nothing bad about any of the dishes there was nothing particularly impressive either - fairly similar flavours across different dishes.

Recommended for good quality food and friendly staff. We went when our booked restaurant turned out to be closed so we didn't know what to expect. One vegetarian, one meat eater. We shared a set veggie dinner and there was enough foo for a third person. If we didn't live so far away we would be back again soon.
