Amazing hotel

We have just returned from a week here. Cannot fault it. Location perfect - just a 20 minute taxi ride from the airport. Everything was immaculately presented at the hotel. Rooms spotlessly clean with toiletries provided. Fully stocked fridge mini bar. Staff friendly. Food excellent - wide choice of restaurants and all of very high standard. The food at the main buffet restaurant was also of high quality with lots of lovely choice. There’s also the bonus of the beach cafe, creperie and snack bar. 3 very clean pools catering for kids, those wishing to relax or for those that preferred music. All pools had a bar serving food. There was evening entertainment every evening and activities in the day if you wanted to join in such as pool Zumba, darts and beach volleyball. The beach is just across the road and there’s a little land train (not related to the hotel) which gives you a 2 hour tour of some of this beautiful island. We’d love to return to the Mitsis Laguna. Highly recommended!

Nice place

We spent a week in this hotel in the first half of May 2022. We remember our stay very well. The hotel is away from the sea, but for those who want to spend time on the beach, the route is not too demanding. With two young children, we covered the route in 20-25 minutes. You can also reach the beach by the hotel bus. There are shops by the beach for basic shopping and one small shop in the hotel. The hotel bus takes guests to the center several times a day, so communication is a plus. You can also rent a car at a reasonable price from the hotel. When it comes to the hotel itself, the service deserves praise. It is rare for everyone to be so warm, smiling and helpful. Big bows and greetings to boss Katerina and the entire crew. Among the service, two very nice Polish ladies :) Clean hotel, you can see that it is being gradually renovated, standard Greek rooms, great relaxation area by the pool. There are pools of various depths, so both children and adults will find something for themselves. Sunbeds available without any problems, massage zone additionally payable, swings, in the evening this zone is beautifully illuminated, which gives a great effect. Water slides available from 90 cm, so our children did not get it, but it is a nice attraction for older kids. And animations. Here, the animators really do their best, inventing attractions for the guests every day. And and although the hotel is dominated by guests from France, the animators and the boss learn Polish phrases, which is a very nice touch :) Food quite repetitive but tasty. There is a buffet in the dining room and grilled dishes on the terrace. The all inclusive program lacks local brandy, but you can get ouzo, wine, martini or beer without any problems. Several coffee machines are also a plus. In conclusion, we heartily recommend it, we spent a great time there. Best wishes to the hotel team from the parents of Jan and Antonina :)

Excellent family holiday and very good at offering refunds if required

We've just returned from a half-term trip to the hotel with our three small children (aged 4 years old 2 years old and 4 months). We had to fly home a day early and our room cost was refunded immediately with no questions asked; this flexibility and generosity was greatly appreciated and it's worth giving this hotel business for this alone given how unpredictable travel can be. The staff were all very friendly and there was a wide selection of food available at each meal (and a kids' buffet in the evenings). The children enjoyed the kids club where they have a selection of different activities each day (closed Mondays) including dressing up as pirates, baking biscuits and water polo etc. I opted for a back, neck and scalp massage at the spa which was most relaxing and the masseuse - Perseus - was excellent. I highly recommend a treatment if you have time. It's also worth mentioning the Creperie by the pool. Unlimited crepes (savoury and sweet), a large selection of ice cream and some delicious cakes available from 10am onwards. Make sure you save room for a daily visit!

Beautiful grounds, food slightly mediocre, amazing staff & service, very quiet and relaxing, safe resort for single gal

I am a 31YO female on a solo trip for the first time. I was looking for a relaxing beach holiday to catch a tan, eat, drink and sleep and not move a muscle. I stayed in room 719 which is right by the beach (ground floor, not facing the sea). The hotel is around half an hour from the airport but more like 45-60 mins on a transfer coach with other stops. PEOPLE: the majority of guests are older females from Austria, Germany, Poland. There are some couples and some with young children, however not very many children at all. The staff are the most lovely people - EVERY SINGLE member of staff stop what they're doing to say hello when you walk past. They are so welcoming and friendly and will cater to whatever you need. A special shout out to George at the main buffet and Aphrodite at the beach bar. HOTEL: the hotel is huge with lots of lovely walkways with flowers and pretty buildings. It is a beautiful resort with gorgeous views and is impeccably clean every single moment of the day. Though it is a large hotel, there is so much space that the place actually feels very quiet and deserted a lot of the time. I have had my pick of sunbeds every day. A handful of towels at dawn but most guests seem to rise later. You don't need to worry about finding a nice spot. The hotel is on a long skinny plot with the reception and main buffet at one end, winding downhill towards the beach at the other end. If you ask the staff it is a 'one minute walk' from one end to the other, however realistically it is a 5-10 minute walk. They do have buggies which can ferry you around if needed. WiFi was available throughout the hotel and beach, a bit spotty in some areas but mostly OK. There are a number of shops and boutiques available, selling all kinds of gifts, jewellery, clothes, toiletries, pool floats and a mini mart for gifts and snacks/drinks for half boarders etc. ROOM: the room isn't so important to me as I don't spend much time there. The room was very clean, fairly modern, cleaned daily, blackout blinds, stocked mini fridge, waterfall shower, strong water pressure, and security deposit safe. They provided two beach towels, two robes and two paper Slippers (twin room). Coffee, tea, kettle, cups, plates and wine glasses were provided. I had some issues on my first day, the drain in the shower wasn't draining well and so the water flooded the bathroom and unfortunately the floor wasn't angled towards the back of the room so when it got to the door, it flooded the hallway to the room. Also the toilet flush was broken. I called reception who were apologetic and sent someone to fix it within half an hour while I went for dinner which I was happy with. The TV was all in German so I didn't make use of that, despite asking twice if this could be changed. The buildings are all very beautiful and no high rises. Due to the hotel being set on a hill, a lot of places benefit from sea/sunset views. FOOD: food was high on my priority list so I chose all-inclusive however many people were half board. I’m not sure I would choose AI again if I was solo as I really didn't make the most of it, however if I were with friends I would probably have made more of the drinks. **I attach photos of the menus** Bars: open from 10.15am. I didn't see any other café/barfor early morning coffees aside from the main buffet. Drinks during the day are served in brown paper cups with paper straws. Straws = fine. Cups =lined with plastic so not THAT eco-friendly. Would prefer clear plastic cups so I can see the beautiful cocktails. - Breakfast: you can only have breakfast at the main buffet (Symposia) which is served until around 10.30am (ish - I believe). I did see someone deliver room service one day it wasn't an advertised facility in the rooms, so not sure what the availability/cost of this is. Fresh orange juice is available by table service which was delicious and it was a shame that it wasn't available at any other time of the day (unless I paid extra). Food was varied and fresh, including all of the usuals. Good quality. Fresh waffles, pancakes, bacon/eggs/beans/sausage, fried bread, cereals, fruits, Cheeses, meats, fresh bread etc. If you do not get to breakfast before it closes, you will not be able to find a late breakfast anywhere and will have to wait until lunch opens. A mid morning snack bar would be a nice improvement. - Lunch: options include the mini buffet (Allegro) in the reception building or the beach restaurant at the other end of the resort (nothing in between). The mini buffet offers a small buffet selection of hot food (pasta, pizza (either margherita or a ham pizza), and usually another couple of items such as pita with tzatziki and meat or Bao buns), along with a salad bar, fruit, veg, cheese, breads, ice cream and desert counter. There is a fridge to help yourself to wine, bottled water and self-serve pumps for beer and soft drinks. I was happy with this mini buffet but it does get samey after a week as the main option is pizza every day. The beach restaurant can be dined at once for free (if AI) during your stay, or visit a second time for 25% off. I wasn't personally a fan of the food at this restaurant as it was a lot of fish etc and there wasn't much for picky eaters aside from one burger. There definitely needs to be another snack bar closer to the beach that offers casual items like toasties, sandwiches, burgers, picky bits etc. - Snacks: the mini buffet offers pizza in the afternoon until 4pm, though I never ate at that time of day so cannot comment (I never saw it). - Dinner: options are the main buffet (from 6.30pm), Asian a la carte (Royal Palm) or Mediterranean a la carte (Candia) . The Greek a la carte was still closed which was a shame since I went to Greece for Greek food! You can visit the a la cartes unlimited times with AI, but you need to pre book in reception which was never a problem if you do it a day or two in advance. The a la cartes are open until the small hours, and on my first night when I arrived at midnight, I was able to go to Candia (right by my room towards the beach) for a four course set meal, it was deserted but the setting of this restaurant is very picturesque, set over a decorative pool with nice lighting. I visited Candia a second time and it was such a lovely dinner with a violinist setting the scene. The a la cartes have substantial menus however they do have a separate menu for AI which is a more limited menu. You can of course pay for other dishes if you wish but there is plenty to choose from if not. My favourite was the Asian which I visited twice. Set in the middle of the resort, you dine Al fresco on a pretty patio. The menu was probably 50% sushi type options, but the rest included normal Chinese options including spring rolls, prawn Crackers, fried prawns, sweet n sour chicken/pork, hoisin duck Wraps. Desert was sorbets, ice creams or a fried ice cream. The food here was out of this world 10/10. AFTERS: There is a late night cocktail bar and roof terrace near reception with live music and stunning views. Not sure on closing time, but I don't think it goes too late into the early hours. The ambiance at this bar was very nice – relaxed and mature. POOLS/BEACH: there are two large pools as you wind your way down from reception towards the beach. Each pool has a drinks bar, toilet and a lifeguard. The top pool is where the mini lunch buffet is located and is therefore the more popular choice, however it is still not very busy and no issues with finding a nice bed. The middle pool is quieter, and has a jacuzzi. There is no snack bar here, just drinks bar. There are many other smaller pools which are private access for certain rooms. These looked very serene however I personally enjoy the ability to mingle and people watch. They don't really play much music around the pools and I didn't see any activities such as aqua fit etc. They do have tennis courts, a Spa, ping pong tables etc however I didn't use and didn't see people use them. The beach was my favourite place to perch. The sea was a little choppy which made for fantastic people watching - the pensioners were not afraid to jump the waves. The beach is made of smooth gravel type sand. It is not too painful to walk on however sea shoes make it much easier, especially when getting in and out of the choppy sea so you don't have to Worry about stubbing your toe on the rocks on the sea bed. I never heard of any sea urchin incidents however I wore my sea shoes as a precaution. There are always beds available. It doesn't feel crowded and the beds are nice and comfortable, and very clean. There are some shallow pools/puddles of the sea where small children can splash about safely. To summarise: I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The beautiful hotel grounds and lovely staff made the trip. No request is too much. The hotel is very calm and mature. You don't see people stumbling around drunk, or have hyper children running riot. This is a child friendly hotel however they may get bored (I spoke to one parent who said theirs was the only child in kids club). If you're looking for a relaxing solo holiday or a romantic getaway, this is for you. Solo travellers can feel very safe alone at night. Other residents will chat to you (if you engage) so you don't feel lonely. Some improvements I would suggest to the hotel: - A snack bar available for late breakfast and snacks throughout the day such as sandwiches, Wraps, toasties, chips etc. - A coffee/drinks venue open early morning for the early risers. - Light music around the pools to create atmosphere. - Clear plastic cups (or reusable plastic glasses to be eco friendly) as an option for drinks. I understand paper cups are eco friendly and pool-safe however The brown paper COFFEE cups spoil the cocktail/wine experience for me. I actually think the paper cups are lined with plastic so maybe they aren't that eco friendly. Not sure. - I didn't see any library/bookshelf to swap books which I would have liked.
