The cave harbors some 5,000 oilbirds (Guácharos) that nest in the cave and fly out at dusk to feed on fruit in the tropical forest, dropping seeds that replants the forest. They navigate by echo sounding, like bats. It's eerie inside the cave hearing the birds growling and howling. There is an elaborate stairway and walkway into the cave; could use a little better maintenance. It's inside the Tingo Maria National Park which is the second oldest park in Peru. Beautiful vegetation. Some souvenir and refreshment stands at the entrance to the Park.

Para conocer la ciudad de Tingo María desde lo alto deben tomar un mototaxi que los dejará en la entrada principal, luego deberan subir unas escaleras para llegar al punto mas alto. Desde alli se puede ver la ciudad completa y el río Huallaga

I remember I went there one morning I felt there was nothing else to do in Tingo Maria, but I was totally wrong, I took a taxi and told the driver I wanted to see real, wild animals, then he suggested going to the Snake Home, so when I arrived I was surprised with the place, the host was a specialist in snakes, He noticed my curiosity and asked me if I wanted to have a snake on my shoulders, saying that it was completely safe, I accepted and then , there it was, a big anaconda on my shoulders, I had to keep its mouth closed only, had great pictures. we walked around the place, observed more types of snakes and finally he took me to the baby snake room, wow! so many in captivity! And well after that I went to the Virgin Falls, I had a fantastic day in Tingo Maria - Huánuco.

Lugar paradisíaco, para realizar paseo en bote, natación, practica de deporte de aventura como rapel y canopy de 1000mts, tambien la ruta del Ayawasca es misterioso.

Uno de los días que más disfruté en Tingo María, fue el full day en Pukka Shungo, desde que nos recogieron en el hostel, nos brindaron un buen servicio, personas muy alegres que contagian buena vibra. Aventurarse en una caminata entre la naturaleza hasta llegar al Balcón de los Vencedores, recorrer un poco más montaña arriba y llegar al mirador del Beso del Viento para tener una impresionante vista, regresar y tomar valor para realizar el canopy de 1 kilómetro fue lo máximo. Al retornar dar un paseo en bote por la Laguna de los Milagros y almorzar en la isla del Libre Pensar y ver el bello sunset sumaron mucho más a este precioso día y lugar. Para cerrar, querer hacer rapel al anochecer, pero quedarte más maravillada por la impresionante aparición de muchas luciérnagas. Sin lugar a dudas, un destino que no debes perderte, una experiencia inolvidable
