Fossey Mountain Springs Ranch

Reviewed By tedk951 - County Cork, Ireland

What an amazing time we had at Fossey Mountain Ranch... From the minute we got on site we were made to feel really welcome and the tea and biscuits were great while the horses were being saddled up. Michael and his team of helpers were fantastic company on the trail. Their horsemanship shone through and they ensured our party of 6 had a great experience throughout. Michael kept me talking for the duration to cut my nerves and put me at ease as it was my first time on a horse. Our party of 6 had an amazing time on the trail and were afforded plenty of time afterwards in the barn for chats and refreshments. The kids loved the whole experience at Fossey and are already talking about the horse the want to ride when they return. I have travelled the length and breath of the country the past couple of years and didn’t expect to unearth a HIDDEN GEM like this in Co. Laois but we did. I would highly recommend this place to Irish staycationers and those from further afield. Thanks again, Ted Kelly, family and friends ????

Timahoe Heritage Centre

Timahoe Heritage Centre situated in Timahoe is dedicated to showcasing the Monastic heritage of the Village. The centre is full of local heritage and information on the 12th century Round Tower on site. There is also a playground nearby and a coffee shop. We are well worth a visit!!

We visited with our family of 12. Ranging in age from 8 years old to 75. Play area has everything and the information at the Heritage Centre is very informative. Great visual presentation. Outside are some fabulous old ruins and around tower. Could definitely spend 3-4 hours here and all for free. Well cared for and clean. Definitely recommend it.
