Well, since this is the largest stock-pile in Europe the ride by bike upwards through the serpentine-routs shouldn't be to easy. Huge views over the landscape, pretty nice stuff at top. The obelisk was a bit smaller than expected though. Cool that the pile is still growing! Large machines came all time loaded with.. pile material.

If you are in Herten or close-by, come to this indoor (and in summer also outdoor) swimming pool. They also offer spa areas where you can visit the sauna or get various kinds of massages. It's not very expensive with about 11€ for a full day. If you get hungry there's a small restaurant inside and also a small stand where you can buy food and beverages outside in the summertime.

The Castle Hotel is a very scenic hotel with a beautiful park and golf court associated with it but has dated (bed-)furniture in a large part of the hotel

Ich gehe mit meiner Frau liebend gerne zur paar Massage, so oft der Geldbeutel es zulässt.
Würde gerne öfter hin aber so bleibt es ein Luxus für uns .
Habe schon viele ausprobiert in der Umgebung aber bei Taroma bin ich etwas mehr begeistert.
Die können meine Beschwerden finden ohne das ich Sie darauf ansprechen muss, das hat schon was .

Ja, die Ausstellung ist interessant; museumspädagogisch gut gemacht, v.a. etwas für Kinder. Man lern viel über die Gestirne usw. Es fehlt aber jedes kritische Wort zur Bergbauschließung.
