Minch Adventures

Minch Adventures is about exploring and engaging with wild, open and natural places, with a journey through breath-taking landscapes at a slower, immersive pace. Creating memories through meaningful experiences, such as hauling lobster pots and investigating the sea life, learning to line fish, sampling the catch, a chance visit to a charming remote café and listening to my sea fairing stories.

Caledonian MacBrayne

The big draw for many visitors is Skye, just a short 30 minute crossing from the mainland and yet a whole other world away once there. But don't let that overshadow the many charms of Raasay and the Small Isles too.

CalMac ferries have done us proud, all round the Outer Hebrides and to & from the mainland. Clean to covid standards, bright, super range of seating and lounges, good bars, always left on time and a fab way of seeing the islands and approaches. The fares for foot passengers were surprisingly inexpensive. Why go on a cruise when you can sail CalMac?

Haggard Alley

Haggard Alley is a small shop based in the Fishing Village of Mallaig. We are down the wee Alleyway across from The Royal Bank Of Scotland and although we are small, we are somewhat an Aladdin's Cave for Licensed Harry Potter Merchanside and other Magical Gifts featured around the Mystical world.

We took the Jacobite Steam Train and as Harry Potter fans this quirky little shop was the best surprise when arriving in Mallaig! A lot of effort has been put into the decor, everything looks straight out the Gryffindor common room! There are many details in every corner and you can enjoy taking some time to look at everything. The merch is also quite interesting - they have things we hadn't seen anywhere else before! (like a Hogwarts train canvas!) Moreover the girl who owned the shop was really nice and helpful, and if you ask yourself any question about the amazing way the shop is decorated, she will able to answer! We recommend one hundred percent going there, whether you are a HP fan or just willing to immerse yourself in magic for a little while. This shop is a 9¾ out of 10!
