BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir

Inspired by His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj, a handful of devotees began conducting weekly assemblies in the late 1970's and early 1980's. In 1984, His Holiness inaugurated the first BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Whittier, California, a small suburb just outside of Los Angeles. With the guidance and blessings of His Holiness, the congregation grew from just a handful of families to a strong group of dedicated devotees who yearned for spiritual growth. In 2000, His Holiness visited the current site of the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Chino Hills and invigorated the congregation's desire to build a traditional Hindu Mandir. The congregation completed with Haveli building (more commonly known as the Visitors Center) in 2007. In 2012, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Chino Hills was dedicated and opened with great joy. This Mandir is the fifth traditional Hindu Mandir in North America.

Chanting the Holy Names and offering obeisances to the Holy Dieties and the devotees. Also honoring the sanctified vegetarian foodstuffs is a must! Don't be shy, eat as much as you can for purification. Because the food was cooked with devotion and offered to the Lord with devotion it becomes pure spiritual food and is called prasadam, which means the mercy of the Lord. It is suggested to fold your hands and say Hare Krsna and namas te when meeting or saying goodbye to anyone you meet here.

Xscape Pods is the perfect balance between a challenge as well as adventure. I have played all of their rooms except for their newest game, The Bridge, and had a tremendous time. I’ve had my share of escape rooms and I’m happy to say Xscape Pods is top tier! My favorite room by far is The Forgotten Pharaoh, because it has a great blend of electronics as well as hands on challenges. The decor and aesthetic in the room is also PHENOMENAL and the game masters do a great job conducting the adventure. My advice to anyone playing their games is to make sure to communicate thoroughly with everyone on your team as their rooms are pretty challenging (in the best way). The best part is Xscape Pods is most definitely COVID 19 compliant as they make sure to wear masks at all times as well as sanitize their games thoroughly which is very comforting to know. All in all, I had an amazing time and can’t wait to play The Bridge! 10/10

Chino Hills State Park

Reviewed By siouxsy - Tustin, United States

Love coming here during spring. Last time we came several years ago, we saw California poppies. This year, hills are covered in mustard yellow. Beautiful. We parks on the street and walked up the paved driveway. At the tops of the driveway, there is a path both to the left and right. We took the path to the right. Ended up coming back the same path after 2 mile in but if you continue, it does hit down to the paved road which you can also walk back up. Recommend to wear long sleeves and long pants. Some of the paths are narrow with plants on both sides looking to over take it. Some steep hills as well so hiking shoes recommended.
