Figueira da Foz (Portuguese pronunciation: [fiˈɣɐjɾɐ ðɐ ˈfɔʃ]), also known as Figueira for short, is a city and a municipality in the Coimbra District, in Portugal. What a beach...soo much sand. The beach is so huge parts of it are given over to artificial football pitches. Great walkways to take you closer to the sea shore. Not good for swimming unless you are exceptionally strong. Great expanse for some privacy

A must visit when in Figueira, you can see for miles, don't miss it. A lovely cool drive up through the forest and some interesting hairpin bends giving some spectacular views out over the Atlantic with the pristine beach below.
