Our family - 3 children ages between 7 and 11, as well as my husband and I, had a fantastic private lesson with Marise yesterday. None of us have any experience but my daughter wanted to try horse riding. We were immediately made to feel comfortable with the horses who were quiet and calm. Exactly what we needed. We all really enjoyed it and learned lots thanks to Marise's tuition and encouragement. We will definitely be back.

While staying in Castle Leslie, I discovered that the hotel uses some very lovely ceramic pottery in their restaurants on the premises, and was happy to learn I could purchase some of the pieces myself at the hotel gift shop PLUS walk into the town of Glaslough and visit the craftswoman herself & see her shop. I would highly recommend any guests of Castle Leslie or the neighboring hotels, to visit Busy Bee Ceramics in Glaslough, and meet Brenda the owner and artist. Treat yourself to one of her unique & beautiful pieces of functional art work - mugs, bowls, etc. - I think you’ll be glad you did!

St. Peter's Church

St. Peter's Tin Church Laragh village is literally built on a rock, in a beautiful woodland setting among the ferns and ivy. Constructed of tin, it is one of a kind and unique on the island for its Swiss Gothic architecture, quirky design and carefully considered features. Enjoy the peace and quiet in the picturesque village of Laragh in Co. Monaghan. Take a walk along the reinstated Mill Race, stand on the site of the once famous Laragh Woolen and Tweed Mill or just sit back and take it all in whilst enjoying the sights and sounds of the River Owenagh as it winds its way through Laragh Village day by day.

If you’re in Monaghan be sure to drop into this wonderful museum. It’s free admission and consists of very very interesting displays of Co Monaghans history. The current War of Independence exhibition is very well put together and is a credit to whoever put organised it. Lastly the lady on the front desk is so friendly and helpful. It was an absolute pleasure to visit this museum.
