Lewiston (English pronunciation: /ˈluːɪstən/, French pronunciation: /ˈluːɪstə/; officially the City of Lewiston, Maine) is the second largest city in Maine and the most central city in Androscoggin County. The city borders the coastal sideways of the Gulf of Maine and is south of Augusta, the state's capital and north of Portland, the cultural hub of Maine. It is one-half of the Lewiston-Auburn Metropolitan Statistical Area, commonly referred to as "L.A." or "L-A." If you find yourself in Lewiston, Maine and are a fan of architecture (regardless of your faith preference), I highly recommend that you stop by this iconic landmark. The Basilica is not only on the national register of historic places, but is also the second largest church in all of New England. The church was built in the late 19th/early 20th century by the thousands of French Canadian (Catholic) immigrants that flooded into the area to work in the mills for a chance at a better life.

Over the past year we have been here several times and for a small theater they do great presentations. There's not a bad seat in the house. They serve wine and cookies before and during intermission. The plays are interesting and I have never been disappointed
