Log Barn 1912

The Log Barn 1912 is a unique Agricultural farm based business that started in 1994 along highway 97A, in the small farming community of Armstrong, BC. The original barn dates back to 1912, thus the name of the business. The Mennonite family business started by selling fruits and vegetables from the small corn shack (pictured above). The family soon realized that customers would come from far and wide just to buy their fresh produce and most would stay a while to enjoy the animals and the farm setting. Word of mouth spread, and soon after the business began to grow rapidly.

I had seen this place driving by one day but but could not stop so made a point of asking around as to what was there and made a point of going back 2 weeks later since my curiosity was peaking. It seems people have old information on what the place is. I loved this place and don't understand the bad reviews. The outside is great fun for any age to view taking one back to the classic old days. Inside the small store was cramped but again fun and adventurous and I thoroughly enjoyed looking at everything and bought way to much. Not only did they have baked goods but I also bought bird houses and butterflies for the yard. The chocolate mouse sprinkled balls were amazing and I usually do not eat ginger cookies but these were the soft kind and I ate them all, package of 6 cookies in 2 days. I also bought the sparking juices and have a pie in my freezer I have yet to try. Now that I know what I liked I will go back and get more of that. The one thing that is important to remember is if you are far away from home have a cooler or fridge. Some of my stuff melted fast. I already had my coffee limit for the day otherwise would have had one there, next time I go will skip my morning coffee and wait till I am there. I wanted lunch but this is where they lacked, I would have liked to see a soup and sandwich or something on the menu to sit and enjoy on the patio. Others had ice cream but I can't eat it. I definitely will be stopping in here again to see if there are any changes and to buy some more goodies and of course for the laugh as I look at all the fun statues. This place had me smiling for 2 hrs. Oh yes I can't forget the goats that come to the wheel as soon as they see people and lift the rope up to get food.
