This cafe has a long history and connection with NZ trains between Auckland Wellington. National Park Station where the cafe located is always one of the several traditional stops along the route, mid position between Auckland Wellington and a stop for passengers to go to Whakapapa Ski Field. Cafe interior is good with solid timber furniture, the service was friendly and helpful. Coffee was delicious the food was yummy, and this cafe is also the regional bus stop for tourist to National Park / Whakapapa Ski Field.

We had an excellent dinner tonight. The food is fresh and very nicely prepared. Very tasty. The lamb shank vas delicious. The chocolate cake with ice cream was so good. Good value for the money. The couple who has the restaurant are so nice and friendly.

This pub is THE place to eat in the small village after the tongariro crossing. The meals came out fast and the serving sizes were beyond gEnerous. I ordered the ribs and I would highly recommend it!

We operate a friendly cafe with great coffee and also offer evening takeaways and a pizza menu. Attached are also a post office and dairy. Our breakfast burgers are a great way to start your day quickly to allow you to maximise your time on the slopes or trails.

I had a really great time at the Macrocarpa Café ! A really warm welcome and some delicious food, I totally recommend it ! I would also like to say that the restaurant is really clean ! Outside and inside !

Called into cafe for breakfast on my way to Whanganui. Was around 8.49am and a few tourists in cafe. Ordered coffee and cooked breakfast and overheard chef say in grumpy voice hope they are not in a hurry as not organised. Little embarrassing if this is how our tourists are treated :-(
Gentlemen serving me however was very pleasant and accomodating even when having issues with eftpos.
Meal arrived and was okay, over cooked poached eggs but I was hungry so overlooked this.
