The Premium trek itinerary allows trekkers to maximise the value of their pilgrimage. The trek includes a visit to all battlefields, fire support bases, logistic areas and evacuation centres along the original Kokoda Trail. In addition we take a day to explore the mystical, historical Myola lakes which were considered to be tabu by the local Koiari tribes from the beginning of time until 1942. We also trek across to the eastern side of the range that was defended by the 53rd and 2/16th Battalions. We provide superior battlefield presentations regarding the strategy of the Kokoda campaign; the phases of war; the principles applicable to each phase; our battlefield tactics; and soldiers recollections. We follow the original wartime trail mapped by the Royal Australian Army Survey Corps in 1981 and rediscovered through numerous mapping expeditions led by Major Charlie Lynn over a three year period from 2010 - 2013.

I completed the Kokoda trek through Adventure Kokoda and it was truely amazing. Charlie Lynn is so inspiring and full of knowledge. He was so patient and offered so much support the entire trek. The porters were always there whenever I needed support or encouragement. I never felt alone. Their smiles and friendly chats will always be a favourite memory I’ve taken away from my experience. The food was always great better than I’d ever had expected. There was always plenty and I never went hungry! Conditions of the campsites were kept to the highest standards. I’ve made wonderful friends. I also got an insight into what our Australian soldiers had to endure in World War Two and i will always be grateful for their sacrifice. I highly recommend this life changing experience to everyone and most importantly I strongly recommend adventure Kokoda. Charlie and his team made the whole experience from start to finish, memorable and one I’m so grateful for. I’d do it again with adventure Kokoda and Charlie!

Our Kokoda Trail Treks are led by a PNG trek leader and designed for groups who want to experience the physical challenge of the Kokoda Trail across the original wartime route. While our PNG trek leaders are masters of their environment and will get you safely across the trail they only have a superficial understanding of the Kokoda campaign strategy and battlefield tactics. They have been leading treks across the trail for more than 10 years and are well respected by the Koiari and Orokaiva clan leaders across the trail. Each of our Kokoda Trail Trek group has a PNG medic trained in First Aid - they also carry two VHF radios and a SatPhone and have 24/7 back up from our base at Sogeri. These treks are best suited for a bunch of mates on a budget who want to experience the physical challenge of the Kokoda Trail and the camaraderie that goes with it. We require a minimum of eight (8) trekkers for these groups.

After one week of nice fishing in Coral see we (3 persons from Lithuania) had 2 days free being in Port Moresby. We were interested in PNG nature and wildlife, so we decided to take 2 days tours led by New Guinea Natural Tours and guided by Daniel Wakra. It was really great ! Daniel was really brilliant: was very clear, honest, sincere, objective, with the deep knowledge in all areas, eg. in the area of bird life - he is encyclopedia. We got a full and realistic picture of the Papua New Guinea. He is real representative of his own country. Many thanks to you Daniel. I would unhesitatingly recommend him to anybody who needs an advice about Papua New Guinea.

4. ADVENTURE KOKODA 8 Day History Trek Australian Led

Jacksons International Airport, Morea-Tobo Rd, Port Moresby 121, Papua New Guinea Adventure Kokoda

Led by an expert Australian guide our Kokoda History Treks follow the footsteps of the brave as they fought one of the most desperate series of battles across the Owen Stanley Ranges from Kokoda to the doorstep of Port Moresby at Imita Ridge. They are led by experienced Adventure Kokoda trek leaders with a detailed knowledge of the wartime history of the Kokoda campaign. They understand the Principles of War; the strategy of the Kokoda campaign; and the tactics of each battle which they will explain at each site. The route follows the original 138 km wartime trail which is shorter than our 10-day Kokoda Premium Campaign Treks as it does not include the battle areas defended by the 53rd and 2/16th Australian Battalions on the eastern side of the Yodda Valley. Our Kokoda History treks cover all the major battle sites at Imita Ridge, Ioribaiwa Ridge, Brigade Hill, Templeton's Crossing, Eora Creek, Isurava, Deniki and Kokoda where you will receive detailed historical presentations.
