The Picture House is an important example of Glasgow School Art Nouveau and is A listed. It is community owned and run and the oldest continuously run, purpose-built cinema in Scotland. It is currently closed whilst undergoing an ambitious restoration. There are a number of open days to view the cinema and until reopening, a monthly programme of film screenings in the nearby Victoria Hall.

Oban Phoenix Cinema is a community owned cinema which reopened in 2012 after a community campaign to save our cinema. The venue has been upgraded to provide a cinema which you will all want to visit again and again.
This community run cinema is an absolute gem. It is delightfully lo-fi with 2 screens that, importantly, both feature excellent screens and sound. They have big plans to continue the redevelopment and renovation so get along and support them by buying tickets and plenty of popcorn. They have a great choice of films - all the blockbusters and a decent array of ‘art house’ content (and the likes of NT and RSC Live also). A great experience and wouldn’t hesitate to go back if in the area again.

Went to see the sonic the hedgehog movie and had a great time. Great selection of drinks and snacks for the movie. However it is unfortunate that even on a rainy saturday afternoon the cinema was nowhere near full. I would hate to see the place close due to lack of custom. The only gripe I had was that the popcorn containers are too small! Apart from that it's a great place to watch a film and we will definitely be returning in the future!

Dunoon's very own local independent two screen cinema, with a dedicated small team. Our mission is to provide the best cinema experience to the local community. We show all of the major Hollywood films and cater for all ages and tastes. Showing all the latest movies on your doorstep.
Just home after a viewing of the stage version of The King and I, and what a lovely afternoon. Very safe environment, lots of social distancing measures, staff lovely and accommodating. Would not hesitate to return and would encourage everyone to go along. So nice to be out for some fun and relaxation during these times. Well done to Studio Cinema and thank you from a local.
