Immersed in the village, suspended between the peaks of the Gran Sasso and the Tirino valley, it hosts a refuge from the chaos and everyday stress: the B & B Historical Residence "Le Civette". The structure is obtained from two haystacks, constructions made with local stones divided into two overlapping environments, of which the upper one was used as a barn and the lower one normally used by farmers and shepherds for the shelter of domestic animals and as a warehouse for household goods. You will discover the flavors, customs and marvelous timeless landscapes of the "Terre della Baronia", district of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park. Moving from Castel del Monte you can easily experience the sublime, wild and free vastness of the Piana di Campo Imperatore, the largest plateau of the Apennines, our "Little Tibet"; or even visit the nearby villages .
Cozy accommodation and fresh air
Reviewed By Elena MThe owners are totally amazing people, available to give you recommendations about places to visit or how to organize the trip. We stayed there for only one night but we managed to visit the most important places around. In the evening we went to their bar (following recommendations from previous reviews) and had a huge dinner (not sure that what we ate was in the menu or not, we just let ourselves in their hands and we didn't regret at all). The room was small and cozy, but offered everything we needed and it was very clean. And yes, it can seem a bit strange to have the shower in the room but I had seen it in other places before and in the end I don't see it as a problem if you are a couple. The only thing that I can mention as less positive is not related to the accommodation but to the long waiting times during the dinner in the bar. Maybe they were busier than usual during that evening, but we were there for more than 2 hrs and we gave up in the end to the dessert as we were too tired to wait any longer.

The B&B is absolutely charming, the rustic charm you would expect in the Abruzzo region of Italy. It is a family operated B&B and the hosts (Paola – mother, Marco – son and Martina - daughter) are extremely accommodating. Marco speaks English very well and will tend to any and all needs that may arise while training abroad. He is masterful in that regard. As masterful as Marco is attending to needs you might have, Paola and Martina are masterful attending to your gastronomical wants and or needs as the meals are some of the best in all Abruzzo. If you desire to have your meals in the restaurant within the B&B, there is a standard menu for any meal plus with a days’ notice, specialty items that are difficult to find in many other Abruzzo restaurants. If your route through the Abruzzo region takes near La Locanda Della Streghe in Castel Del Monte we highly recommend you make reservations there. If your route does not take you near this particular B&B, detour, stay there, you won’t regret it

Struttura eccezionale peccato che non è aiutata dalle amministrazioni locali
Reviewed By aniello sOttima struttura, camere pulite e spaziosissime, ottimo cibo e varietà...personale gentile cordiale e sempre disponibile... addirittura anche parcheggio al coperto...ideale per quando c'è tanta neve... Unica nota negativa il posto è poco valorizzato...nelle vicinanze non ci sono impianti o piste facilmente raggiungibili.... scorciatoia per Campo Imperatore sempre chiusa....se le amministrazioni puntassero di più sulle stagioni invernali ne gioverebbe tantissimo anche la struttura che è il top.

Situato a ridosso del centro storico con parcheggio nelle vicinanze. Proprietari molto disponibili, facilmente raggiungibili rocca calascio e campo imperatore, imperdibili!! Consigliatissimo!!
