Chilmiri Neck

Reviewed By HOMPRS - New Delhi, India

Chilmiri is just 3km from chakrata and one can easily walk all the way to chilmiri. First 2 km on the chakrata-mussorie road has minimal traffic and last 1km is lovely slight uphill walk. Once you reach here, its totally open and flat. If its not foggy then one can see kilometers from here. People come here for sunrise and sunset view. Once you reach the end of the flat surface, don't hesitate to go down and then again to the top of the next mountain to have a look of the other side (Its amazing and quiet). You can also see flat and green shooting range with young jawans trying there hand in shooting (easily audible). But going to that point is restricted. One can easily spend some quiet and peaceful time there.

Budher Caves

From lokhandi village you need to trek 2.5 Km to reach to the top. When in midway, you feel exhausted and feel low on energy. when you get to the place, it is like something you have been waiting to visit once in your entire life. Simply beautiful, thrilling and un-explainable experience. We forgot every pain and stress when standing on the top of this mountain area. Cool fresh breeza with animals grazing in herds, a natural pond of water, little cave on the top, a temple at the very top of the mountain. This is all in summer season May 2018, the guide told us about the beauty in winters. I can just imagine. Planned to come back there with a tent for overnight stay in nature alone. Just one thing, it is little too much for children to visit due to the trek being risky for kids only
