Top 5 Forests in Chilean Patagonia, Chilean Patagonia

July 15, 2021 Karren Gelb

Dazzling fjords and vertiginous Andean peaks cover Chile's best-known region, turning this slim swath of land into a playground for skiing, whitewater rafting and trekking. To the north lies San Rafael Lagoon National Park with its impressive ice fields. In Patagonia's southern stretch, the city of Punta Arenas is the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park, which attracts serious climbers and casual day hikers to its granite peaks, glaciers and waterfalls.

We were pleasantly surprised by the tour - we learned so much that we now are researching more on the moss, lichen, and trees of Tierra Del Fuego. We highly recommend going with one of the guides, as they know so much about the micro-life all around us. Definitely a must-do in Puerto Williams!

Bosque Encantado

Reviewed By Zibordi - Mogi Mirim, Brazil

After having hiked the Ventisquero Colgante trail and having had lunch, despite the rain, we decided to go for Bosque Encantado. We surely don't regret it. It was one of the highlights of our trip - and we hiked all the way under a heavy rain! The first 800 m was very flat, among a very beautiful forest and wildflowers. After that, it started going up until the Laguna. We had to cross a creek to get there. It was amazing! We were almost surrounded by a high rock wall with waterfalls and a blue/green lagoon just below us. We were the last one to return from the trail and the wards were waiting for us (Before you go into the trail, they take your name) The whole hike took about 3hours. However, I don't think everybody who comes here hike up to the lagoon.
