Whiddy Island Ferry

Reviewed By FarranBoy62 - Dublin, Ireland

Finally, made the trip and walked the entire island over a 4 hour period with some friends. Tim, the boatman, give us an impromptu overview as we disembarked and there are good maps and signage at different vantage points around the island. Island scenery is not as stunning as Bere or Dursey island but there are wonderful views across to the Beara peninsula to the north and to the Sheep's Head peninsula to the south. The oil storage tanks dominate one part of the island but are totally unobtrusive from most parts of the walk.

The Blue Pool Ferry

Reviewed By MKatr1n256 - Dublin, Ireland

Visited glengarriff on the August bank holiday, took the blue pool ferry. Was greeted by a cheery old man who gave us lots of info on the boats and area. He gave us a special rate as there was 9 of us and made us promise we all tell our friends! We were told we had to wear masks but there was no mention of social distancing. Before boarding the boat we saw that one of the boat men was wiping the boat with spray and cloth. The island was spectacular, very tropical ! Would recommend everyone come via the blue pool ferry!
