Staff were incredible, every single one of them who served us on Bank holiday Sunday (30/08/20) was extremely polite, friendly and had a real homey touch. Hard to find service like that these days, absolutely lovely. Dinning area was beautiful, spaced out for COVID structure but still so much room to accommodate. Very comfy benches along most the inside which we LOVED. Food... I don’t even know where to start! Don’t think I’ve ever eaten such good quality food at a ‘pub’, it was 5* in my eyes. Portions were more than enough! Yet plenty of salad and veggies!!:) Very very good value for the prices!! Hardly any wait for starter, or between starter and main and quick to clear the table to enjoy the conversation with space. Me and my partner had a wonderful evening here and were gutted it was our last night! (Although it was made special thanks to this find) Would have returned more than once. Will definitely be visiting again! Thank you staff!!!

Point Quay, Penpol to Portreath. The longest route in the Mineral Tramways series of mulit-use trails and in my opinion the best cycle trail in Cornwall. A 25 mile round trip through mining country with many pleasant views and interesting things to look at, bisecting the thin end of the peninsula. The trail itself is pretty bumpy and rocky in places so off road bikes only. Look out for the Poldice Valley, Fox and Hounds (highest point of route) and the Quayside at Devoran and Point Quay the start/end. An alternative start/end is from Devoran Quay which gives a round trip of 22 miles. The trail is pretty well sign posted and good maps are available to download. Parking is free at Bissoe Bike Chain if you use the nice cafe. Otherwise the trail car park at Devoran is also free. Cycle hire at Bissoe, Nancekuke (Elm Farm) and Portreath. Also of interest is the Little Beeside and Wheal Busy Loops. Places to visit are Poldice Mine, Killifreth Pumping House, Wheal Busy Mine and Unity Wood. There is a fork in Unity Wood which the right hand path should be taken if heading to Wheal Busy Mine. This is the extended Coast To Coast Trail and brings the round trip to 29 miles. Take care when walking mine ruins particularly with a camera. 95% off road. Happy cycling.

We came to this little gem three times during our family holiday. Once around 8pm one evening & watched the sun lowering, shining across the see & sand, whilst we watched the surfers in the evening light. The Atlantic cafe/bar on the car park does amazing cream teas! You pay for parking when you leave. You enter via a barrier & collect the ticket. When it's time to leave you take the ticket to the pay station, then as you're driving out you enter your ticket to get back out via another barrier. It's £2 for the 1st hour & £1 for every hour after, which we thought was very reasonable. When we visited the 2nd time, we spent the whole day there with the family. Because the see was out, we were able to explore the many rock pools & caves on the beach. One cave you could actually walk through & when you came out the other side, this part of the beach made us feel like we were on a desert island. The sand was perfect & there was hardly anybody there. The pictures don't even do it justice. We took a picnic, but you could get anything you wanted from the cafe on the beach, or The Atlantic cafe/bar on the car park. We did have to indulge in a salted caramel & rocky road ice cream from the ice cream hut though! ???????? The RNLI on patrol all day do an amazing job of watching/informing/communicating via loudspeaker/whistles to keep everybody safe. The beach was immaculate & the waves were amazing....perfect for bodyboarding/surfing/jumping with little ones. All in all an amazing day. The family had to go back in the evening to try out the cream tea & watch the sun set. ❤????

Base Camp is quite simply the best indoor activity centre in Cornwall and it is open to all 7 days a week, 9am-9pm. With over 2000 square feet of soft play, the only 'clip'n'climb' climbing walls in West Cornwall and free access to iPads and tablets in the Cafe - Base Camp offers hours of indoor fun and also makes a great venue for birthday parties in Cornwall.

I booked an archery party at Base Camp for my 8 year old son. We arrived and were welcomed by Kelly. We did an hour of archery which was expertly coached by Kelly - it was great fun for both adults and children. Then the children used the soft play for an hour which they really enjoyed while the adults sat in the cafe and had a coffee. All the staff in the venue are extremely friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The employees take pride in ensuring great customer service and cleanliness. The party food was amazing - delicious chicken goujons, pizza, a selection of three fillings of sandwiches, and lots of chips! The food was very generous and fresh. We then paid extra for the children to do Clip and Climb which they really enjoyed. They then returned to the soft play. We spent a whole day there and I was extremely impressed with everything. We will definitely be back - we had a great day. Thank you!

Popped in twice during our pre Xmas holiday. Staff were nice n friendly. Place had a roaring log burner with a v nice latte. The hot choc was amazing too. Really pleased to have found you. Look forward to next time.
