Lossiemouth (Scottish Gaelic: Inbhir Losaidh) is a town in Moray, Scotland. Originally the port belonging to Elgin, it became an important fishing town. Although there has been over a 1,000 years of settlement in the area, the present day town was formed over the past 250 years and consists of four separate communities that eventually merged into one. From 1890 - 1975 it was a police burgh as Lossiemouth and Branderburgh.

Have been staying in Lossiemouth for two weeks so have had two visits. I'm not a beer drinker but my husband is so we booked a table. I thought as I was there I'd try a beer, Andy recommended Blonde and Hurricane for me.....I'm now a beer drinker! The other member of staff who was working was Gemma, she had really great local knowledge as well and beside the beer both Gemma and Andy made the visits really great. The takeaway service is good too.

Lossiemouth Fisheries and Community Museum

Wonderful museum to visit to learn and know all about the local history of fishing etc. The museum was closed to the public due to renovations, but the owner allowed us in for a look as we mentioned we were only there for a few days. The owner (didn't catch his name) was an amazing host, very friendly and polite, he was telling us a bit about the fishing boats and also the history of the area and I was amazed of how much has changed over the years. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone to go and take a look at, it takes you back in time and it makes you feel a fisherman yourself!

Lossiemouth East Beach

We stayed close to this beach and the kids absolutely loved going here, good long walk (tires them out) within a lighthouse and a few caves, when the tides out there are plenty of rock pools that keep the little ones and big ones searching for crabs etc, great fun for all ages ????????????
