It is located in the Prahova Valley, at the bottom of the Bucegi Mountains, that have a maximum altitude of 2505 m. Its name literally means tree-logs in Romanian. One village, Poiana Țapului, is administratively part of the town, formerly a separate commune prior to 1950. According to the 2011 census, it has 8,894 inhabitants.

Excellent food with some specialties. Service was good and friendly. Prices are reasonable - we had an excellent dinner for 2 people 100 ron. Very nice decor and aired dining room. Pleasant music not too loud (our 3 month old daughter slept very well there). We had dinner inside the restaurant because it was too chilly outside but the terrace looked great too. Totally recommend it.

Travelling with mercury holidays on the Transylvania & Bucharest holiday Dan our guide arranged for a lunch stop at Cabana Vanatoreasca in Sinaia, we had a two course meal with beer and tasted a selection of meats from various animals bear/wild boar/deer being a few for 70 leu. The restaurant had various animal skins hanging on the walls along with various stuffed animals peering down on you as you eat. The staff was very pleasant and helpful and we all enjoyed the experience, the food was very good.âº

Although the prices may look like too high, we think that every nickel spent was worth spending. Why? Food, beverages, plating, music, interior design, personnel, restaurant placement, in fewer words, everything was such that one can have a very enjoyable evening there. Be sure you will try it as we are sure weâll be back as soon as possible! Sincere congratulations to the owner and staff!

First...let me say that I am used to meals in Europe taking awhile and I generally have no problem with this. However, the restaurant serves ONLY from a set menu: a variety of grilled meats and sides, so it really doesn't justify taking over 2 hours for all the differrent types of meat to make it to our table. The atmosphere is a little dead and barren, but that I could live with...the long wait was really the only reason I didn't give it a five star.The food: our family of four (2 adults, two teenagers) liked it. The potato chips were awesome, the beans delicious...the cabbage/slaw dish was bland and not too interesting but the meat more than made up for it, each type flavorful.We found the service to be ok, neither rude nor unfriendly. Unlike other reviews, and lucky for us, the bathrooms were clean.We founds the prices to be extremely reasonable.Really no major complaints here, I just wish they were faster with timing the food to arrive at the table but would definitely go back and recommend it to others.
